[Discussion] This chapter confused the heck out of me.

Up until Now I believed that shanks was the strongest character alive in the series but it's been revealed that Kaido is the strongest pirate alive.. Upgraded from his previous title of the strongest "creature"

Here's what I don't get.. How the heck did shanks stop kaido from going to marineford? At first I believed that it was either because shanks was>Kaido (which is impossible because one does not fight the strongest pirate and come out unscathed 100%) or because shanks talked him out of it and he would of likely been too heavily wounded after fighting shanks leaving him no hope of facing off against another yonkou plus marine HQ. The later is unlikely too now that we know kaido's personality. Kaido is suicidal as hell, Wouldn't the possibility of facing 2 yonkou back to back plus marine HQ be an efficient death wish in his mind?

Plus it was stated back in thrillar back I believe that Moriah faught.. Equally? (someone please provide me with scans o_o) against kaido and lived? Hello? I just don't get it :dunno: :erm:

Can someone please clear this up for me?

I think it's the miss translation.MS says differently.Anyways maybe they meant Strong as in psychical strength.

Kaidou wanted to fight WB and the WG in the war but Shanks stopped him. Kaidou knew that by the time his scuffle with Shanks is over, the War of the Summit will be finished so he had no chance of dying that day. He had no choice but to leave.

There are more then one way of beating someone. You don't have to beat them physically to beat someone. Ex. Sasuke vs. Naruto round 2 based on ideals.

What if Shanks just sunk their ship. That technically would have been a loss, even though Kaido wasn't physically hurt.

Another possibility is it may have just been Kaido vs Shanks crew. Crew > one person.


Lastly with the Moria thing, they fought way back, so who knows how far back it was. Moria could have been WAY stronger then when the Strawhats fought him. I mean Moria has just been sitting on an island getting weaker making a zombie island. Also again, it was Moria's crew vs Kaido. Moria stated he lost his whole crew and barley made it out alive. That was his motivation to create an army of the undead. Can't lose what is already dead.

Dude is just the top in physical strength and crazy durable imo him losing means that ppl have found ways through his defense.

He is the strongest man alive after WB who may be came under terms with shanks during war.
His appearance and personality is completely different from what has been shown until now.
He wants to budge in in the war coz he knows that only WB can kill him and shanks stopped him bcoz that would be too hard for WB pirates to save ace and luffy from navy if kaidou pirates showed up.

Gecko moriah fought equally with Kaidou???? Where was this stated???

He's lost fights to both yonkou and marines so there are people who have beaten him (we don't know how of course). He's just never been able to be killed by anyone. Ergo there are people who are better fithters than him capable of capturing him but his physical body is virtually indestructible.
The common misconception is that Shanks beat Kaido that day, but all it really says is that Shanks stopped Kaido from pursuing Whitebeard, there are many ways he could have done that.

I think Kaidos story will be very similar to the 3rd raikage in naruto. What happens when an immovable object meets an unstoppable force.
