At least wait until you've seen what Tobirama is capable of before you use him in VS threads.

.....I was posting the chart to help the OP see what you were talking about. A visual aid is helpful or some people. I didn't correct you, or quote your post, or even talk to you. Defensive, much?

Third Raikage. One finger poke through Tobirama's skull for the low-diff win.

I'd say Tobirama. Yes the Raikage is nigh invincible, but he's a close-range fighter. From what we know of Tobirama we know he can at least keep the Raikage at bay with what we can assume are massive water techs, and furthermore I don't see the Raikage getting anywhere near the second considering it's been mentioned that he has s/t (s/t>pretty good 3rd Raikage speed). Lastly we know, though Tobirama's ET is incomplete, he can still use it (how else would everyone brought back by Kabuto assume it was Tobirama that did it?-- obviously they'd seen the 2nd's tech before and in battle considering the world was at war so they wouldn't have been exactly showing opposing Kage's their techniques unless it was in battle). Therefore a functioning edo can keep coming back just as much as the Raikage resists attacks and if nothing else buys Tobirama time and gives him information. Still, of course, there remains the pressing question of how in the world the Raikage is going to be hurt. Well, Tobirama is essentially the brains in the Senju line and so it isn't much of a stretch to say that he figures out the Raikage's weakness. The scar is clear. Tobirama's intelligence>>>Naruto's. So I see the 2nd winning this.

Naruto figured it out with help from Hachibi. How would Tobirama?

Well, since Tobirama's mind>>>>Naruto's mind, my guess would be Tobirama could figure it out even without prior knowledge. He can see the scar, first of all, so he knows the Raikage can be hurt. Second, through water techs and edo summon(s), he can deduce that both the Raikage's defense and offense seem unbeatable. Naturally one then wonders which is better, and therein Tobirama doubtless has an idea. He can try out a little experiment to see which one will win-- if offense, then he's won the battle. If defense, then he's back to the drawing board but nothing lost save time. But something with both the ultimate offense and the ultimate defense inevitably provokes wondering in lesser minds than Tobirama's, what would happen if the two were pitted against one another. Lastly Tobirama's mind>>>Mr. Incredible's mind, so I believe he has a very good shot of figuring out the Raikage's weakness, ftw.

For some reason i had a lot of trouble reading this. I mean, thanks for trying, but just because YOU'RE ASSUMING that he's smarter than Naruto without providing any evidence doesn't mean that any of that will happen. Tobirama has no way of figuring it out.

I'm afraid the manga should speak for itself when one assesses who is smarter, Tobirama or Naruto. And I'm afraid in a battle who's conclusion relies upon the thought processes on one party, we must use logic to divine what will go through their heads. Tobirama has all the tools and prerequisite intelligence to figure out the rather simple secret to the 3rd Raikage, so I don't see why he shouldn't do just that. Since you have yet to be able to counter anything I have said, or present any semblence of a coherent counterargument-- but merely rely on factless, puerile denials and meaningless statements that you hope will have some effect, I would ask that you either shut your sorry ass up or argue with me on my level.

Maybe the manga could speak for itself if you posted any manga?
I see you're down to person insults because you're irritated. You provided no real facts, you were basically like "TOBIRAMA'S SMART. I HAVE NO EVIDENCE OF HOW SMART, BUT THIS IS THE EXACT THOUGHT PROCESS THAT WOULD OCCUR. I HAVE NO PROOF IT'D OCCUR, BUT IT TOTALLY WOULD."
It's literally impossible for you to say without intel that Tobirama would just figure all this shit out.

I don't know what you expect if the battle's conclusion relies solely upon thought processes. But in any case here is some proof concerning Tobirama:

- First of all, he invented the edo tensei. Yes, Oro said it was 'straight-forward,' but that seems to me to apply more to the execution than the development of the tech. And of course Oro is also quite intelligent, so perfecting ET could be an easier task to him than most. In any case, it is hard to say inventing a technique of the caliber of ET requires only a rudimentary mind.
-
Here we find out that it is Tobirama who discovered both the reason for the sharingan eye and its connection to Uchiha emotions. This is the sort of thing that supports a more intelligent mind that goes beyond mere skill in jutsu.
-
Here we see that instead of an idealistic view, Tobirama is pragmatic and logical when it comes to problem-solving. He thinks of a plan that both contains the danger of the Uchiha while placating them and giving them a duty to excel at. Whether or not this worked out for the best (and if not it is because of one of Kishimoto's main messages, of love and ideals and such as opposed to logic), Tobirama was nevertheless thinking in a calculated manner as he would in the present case.
- Now, though he plans to attack Sasuke, we can clearly see in the manga that Tobirama is a calm and collected individual, even cold, at odds with Hashirama's laid-back personality. Therefore it can be assumed that in a battle Tobirama would be calmly analyzing his opponent for a weakness, especially one such as the 3rd Raikage.
- As a child, such as in the most recent chapter, we see that even then he was not idealistic at all but logical, especially when he reprimands his brother, Hashirama. Doubtless his sensing skill is due to a prepared and cautious nature, rather than a more reckless one. This nature is the type of thing that lends to the idea of him scouting the Raikage's skills and weaknesses.

And as for Naruto, though his clever little tricks in battle have often earned him the win, we can find countless examples of his rather monumental, shall we say, bone-headedness. I think if one clearly assesses the relative intelligence levels of both Naruto and the 2nd Hokage, the conclusion that I have drawn is not in the least absurd but in fact quite easy to reach.

As for the actual battle situation, with Tobirama's thought processes-- since this battle has never happened, no one can provide exact proof that Tobirama would think this way. Of course, asking for this is nonsensical seeing as how not every versus battle has happened in the manga-- and to use battles already existing in the manga would be meaningless. No, we have only our logic, and with this one can easily see that Tobirama could figure it out. I have already in previous posts shown how easy it is for one to do so-- I, for one, cannot imagine the idea escaping me if I was placed in this situation and had the calmness of Tobirama-- and in this post, I have shown that Tobirama has the necessary brains to come to a possible solution. All that is left is to realize that at some point in versus threads one must utilize logic to reach a reasonable conclusion.

Thank you for the manga and the examples. That was a solid argument. I agree that it's possible for Tobirama to deduce how the scar was created, but I feel that he would need at least knowledge about the story of the raikage fighting hachibi and them both using their most powerful attacks and shit. And then maybe he'd realize what happened. But yeah. It's possible.
