okay,i have been in threads that say third eye is still succeptable to genjutsu but it's not true.....first of all, lets look at the third eye,it allows the user to create an eye out of sand an use for spying and other purposes, the user must close one eye to activate it,the user can then change it's size at will. Sharingan genjutsu requires DIRECT eye contact with the person(just like medusa's gaze, can't look at her directly but can through a mirror) which means that the sharingan wielder needs to look directly into the eyes of the person to cast it not through a reflection or a medium like the sand eye......secondly,lets look at it from the caster's point of view, they are looking at an eye made of sand, the caster has to take over the opponent's brain chakra, but all he is seeing is an eye made out af sand,it has no brain and the user cannot attack the real one without taking over his chakra.......another way of looking at it is:the third eye is a camera,a person is looking through it and seeing a sharingan wielder, the sharingan wielder is looking at the camera, but all he is seeing is a camera, not the person, the person is making indirect contact with his eyes through a medium and vice versa, while direct contact is needed,i hope ive made sense.

I agree but people will always disagree with you since Gaara has to connect it to the optic nerve.

It's connected to the chakra nerves so it does... Garaa said it himself..

that wud be true for optical genjutsu(the one where the caster can change the environment by bending light to fool someone) and that can be evaded with sesor sand, but sharingan genjutsu needs direct eye contact, they need to look into the person's eyes to take over the brain chakra,i mean can u cast a sharingan genjutsu by just looking at an eye made out of sand?,it's similar to the shared vision.let's say two paths, itachi catches one in a genjutsu, they have shared vision but both of their brain chakra arent affected,so only one will be caught. Thae sand eye is connected to gaara but he isnt in direct contact with the sharingan user, and his other eye is still open, only one is closed for the technique, its like saying he has two eyes on the end of an area,if u catch one in a genjutsu, the other one is still lookiing at u and unaffected. Anyway this is my opinion,i respect anyone who disagrees
