They could have sent someone to occupy Rin and Kakashi

Yeah Kakashi managed to reach low jonin level, but a 14 year old alone was definitely not going to be enough to stop a whole bijuu when it escapes. They could have sent another jonin to occupy both of them as it was now a lot more of a riskier situation than the events in the land of grass. This would have meant that Rin didn't have to jump in front of Kakashi's Chidori.

I don´t even think Kakashi and the brass in Konoha knew of exactly what the Kirigakure ninja had intended, and maybe Kakashi obsessed over the kidnapping issue and went in alone against orders. That way there would be little to no way they´d do such.

Even one more jounin would do nothing against whole bucnh of mist anbus. atleast two konoha anbu teams were needed at that moment
