I have a few friends who refused to watch One Piece because they don'tlike the first episodes.. I mean they are such annoyoing, doesn't know what they will lost.. For them Fairy Tail > One Piece..

Tbh I almost did the first time I started watching One piece but I kept hearing how good it was so I kept watching. I love every arc though.

Been watching One Piece for years though, its probably hard for new readers to watch the first episode now due to the more new looking anime.

The problem with one piece is only that it starts slow. It takes awhile before you get a feel for the larger plot and get attached to the characters. Not everyone has the time or patience to spend 100 episodes getting into it like me. If you got hooked after episode 1 then that is fine, but for a lot of people it took until alabasta and you shouldn't hate them for not wanting to watch 100 episodes before getting into it. To comapre with bleach, most people say watch the first 20 and then you will like it and for naruto its even smaller like 8-15 before zabuza shows people what the show is about.

The common theme seems to be that the longer it takes until the show starts giving meaningful villains, the longer it takes someone to get into it. Some shows/mangas want to develop more quickly then others, don't blame people who don't want to spend forever until they start feeling entertained, I mean the whole point is to spend time being entertained right?

The first time I watched it I stopped for a long time then I was home one holiday with nothing to do and well the rest is history. I'm even convincing persons to watch it.

That's the problem I have with trying to get other people into it. It's a slow start and you really need to get through the Arlong arc to really get hooked, but that doesn't start until volume 8 or 9. Admittedly, I had owned volumes up until the Captain Kuro arc for years before I decided to get more and really got into it. It wasn't until I played Unlimited Adventure for Wii that I decided to look into it more, because of how much I enjoyed it (I still wish unlimited cruise had gotten a NA release). Maybe it's because that's one of the games whose plot was written by Oda himself? Anway, it's my fave series now, but I will admit it's hard to get into early on.

I was once a OP fan but i lost my interest in it. Just following it to see the end, but ain't that hyped about it anymore.
The taste of a person can change. Who knows, maybe someday they'll give it another shot and end up liking it.

Tried the anime once, didn't work. I just couldn't to be honest.

Tried the manga about 2 years ago (god, time goes by quite quick heh) and well, I caught up to it quite fast. But yeah, it was only after arlong park that I got really hooked.

But, I totally understand people who don't want to go through 100+ episode just to get to the really good stuff. That's quite long tbh.
