According the Narutopedia, "The 34th issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump also released additional information, stating that the movie was released to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the Naruto series and the end of itself."

Also, "Short teaser trailers were released on July 31, 2014, touting the movie as one that will connect with the next generation and go beyond the manga."

People seem to confuse this "Go beyond the Manga, thinking that there will be a part 3 or a time skip. Sorry to break it for you, but there won't any part 3. What they meant by "Go beyond the Manga" is that the manga will finish before the the movie is out, so i'm guessing that this movie will about what happens after manga.

What makes you so sure that "Go beyond the Manga" finish the series before the movie comes out??? There's many way to interrupt this message, and this most likely referring to the movie as going beyond after the manga finish so I would this horse if I were you, there are tons of things that needs to clear up in this series and I say it'll finish possibly at mid 2015.

It's a marketing scheme. They keep contradicting themselves, kishi says manga Is ending, then thy announce the movie and it's the first project of the new generation...... Truth is they'll make a 3d series since it would be a lot of money.
