As you all know, The Straw Hat pirates spent two years preparing for the New World because they weren't strong enough yet. After two years, The Straw Hats journeyed to the NW and learned 2 key "rules" about surviving that crazy sea: either work under a Yonkou, or make allainces and target one. Luffy of course is doing the latter which I believe is a huge hint that Luffy isn't ready and will experience a real nightmare once his alliances are no more.
Luffy is relying on alliances to make it in the NW. How well do you think the SHs would have done in Punk Hazard without Law, Smoker and G5? What about Dressrosa without Law or the Coliseum fighters? Not so well in my IMO. Luffy will obviously fight Kaidou and Big Mam with his alliances, as he and his crew would be slaughtered at the hands of the Yonkou forces. The point is, Luffy is getting through/will get through the big obstacles with his alliance and it might slow his strength progession. To give you an idea on how much Luffy relies on allies, lets look at the match up for Kaidou.
Luffy, Law, Drake, Sabo, Zoro and Sanji VS 100 Beast Kaidou, a flying, fire breathing, hand-to-hand combat beast of a dragon zoan. Being able to fly, Sanji and Law are crucial to make Kaidou grounded. Sanji flies up to Kaidou while Law uses 'room' to switch him with either Drake or Zoro to takes out of his wings. To deal with Kaidou's flames, Zoro and Sabo are crucial as Zoro will be able to cut flames and Sabo is fire itself. For Kaidou's dragon scales, constant attack from Drake, Luffy and Sanji will weaken them. Even in a 6v1, The alliance will BARELY cone out victorious. As for Big Mam's possible tricky DF, it'll be Luffy, Law, Kidd, Drake, Hawkins and Apoo VS Big Mam.
The defeat of 2 Yonkou will cause a massive tip of the balance of power AND LOTS of chaos. The territories of the previous 2 Yonkou will be open for the taking, starting a new unstable era of chaos. The big fish of new era will claim this new era, as the Era of the Worst Generation.
After the 2 yonkou's defeat, Luffy's alliances will be no more. Disbanded, the Straw Hats will eventuall go the Elbaf and discover Pluton, which will become public to the outside world, making the SHs the primary targets of many pirates and the WG.
The WG has multiple responses to the defeat of the yonkous and the SHs discovery of Pluton:
-The Shichibukai system will be abolished, creating even more chaos.
-The WG labels the SHs as top tier criminals
-Fleet Admiral Akainu will lead a massive fleet not only to ensure the SHs capture, but to claim territories that were previously under the 2 yonkou.
Luffy n' crew will have nowhere to run and will eventually encounter Akainu's fleet in a similar way to opening 17. There is no way that Luffy will be able to beat an admiral by this time. Luffy gaining the strength to beat a top tier in less than 5 months? Don't think so. The SHs will be saved by the Revolutionaries and Sabo will die, triggering Luffy's nightmare and the final TS. Luffy will need a few more years of training to take on the likes of Akainu and Blackbeard. One more thing:
What about Coby?
Coby is currently just a Captain who would get destroyed by Luffy. Do you seriously think Coby can get on Luffy's level without a timeskip?
