Ok, so Nagato was of Senju/Uzumaki lineage. However, I don’t understand why Madara would pick a young crybaby from some non-yet-named village when there might have been other Senju/Uzumaki kids Nagato’s age with a personality Madara wouldn't see as weak.

Just because the Uzumaki are known for their stamina doesn't necessarily mean all of them are. While we did see young Nagato eventually develop great stamina, it's unknown if that was the case when Madara would've done the transplant.

thew fact that he was weak was the whole point. madara didnt want an ally, he wanted someone he could use, and discard when he was no longer useful. also, he needed someone that wouldnt be missed if they disappeared.

if madara had picked someone with a strong will, they would be less easy to manipulate. also, when they ceased to be useful, someone strong would be harder to get rid of, and more readily noticed by the public.

Even though he was from the Uzumaki clan, I don't get why Nagato was specifically chosen when there likely were other Uzumaki-descended crybabies at the time.

I mentioned Uzumaki/Senju because Obito called Nagato a descendant of the former and Zetsu said Nagato was descended from the latter.

Well I think you are asking the wrong question. I'm sure you would asking the same thing if it was a different cry-baby uzumaki. It's clear Nagato was chosen because of who he was and the plot. He ended up becoming Jiraiya's student which eventually led to the whole pain arc. I don't think an explanation is needed as to why Madara chose Nagato other than the fact that he was uzumaki. And who knows if there were more uzumaki children around. If there was we probably would have seen them within the story already like we have

No Senju,Nagato was a Uzumaki,their different Clans distant relatives along with the Uchiha, the Difference is the Senju and Uchiha are on their last legs and out there are manny Uzumaki living under different Names but they do have a leader Under Naruto Uzumaki ones the wold learns of Him saving the world they will come to Him and make Him the Uzumaki Clan leader.
