What if there is no infinite tsukuyomi? What if Madaras plan for peace was to bring the shinobi togehter. He knew kind words were not enough to convince people, and the cycle of hatered is more complex than we might think.

He needed power, to frighten and concern the whole world. The akatsuki demonstraded that threat. Widouth such danger the shinobi would not need to come together, and it would all be in vain, so naturally sacrifices had to be made.

He had to manipulate a young naive Obito, because he was at the end of his lifespan, for this plan to work.

But the shinobi aliance was already functioning and fighting as one against him. Why didnt he stop there? He wanted to see what would happen if he pushed them in to maximum danger, would they still fight honorably as one?

This is just a theory, and i myself highly doubt this possibility, but it would be interesting if that were the case.

Then why is he still fighting them? Why was he slaughtering them, and letting Obito do the same?

If this plot is true, this is one Front Mission-ass cop out of a plot. I don't want to relive this trope again! I either want:

A. SA pulls through and Mugen Tsukoyomi is never released

B. Mugen Tsukoyomi is released, but Naruto, Bee, and Sasuke find a way to destroy the connection (Biju and Sharingan abilities).

B is less likely because the Biju have already been cut off, but would be a great turning point.
