So I have been reading lately about technologies that will be available to us in our life time.
Our understanding of the human brain is almost to the point where we can actually map out an individual brain and download it to a computer. The downloaded brain will still behave like the the person from which it came.
I have been thinking about the implications of a technology like this. If there are other intelligent species in the unverse, especially super advanced ones, then it is safe to assume that they also have discovered this kind of technology. Maybe ever perfected it.
If that is the case then how do any of us know whether or not we are the real deal and not just an advanced simulation?
Would knowing that you are a simulation change your world perspective? Would you simply accept it and move on?
Out of all of the people in the world, how many of them are actually plugged in Matrix style and are just playing a game?
"I think, therefore I am". Maybe it's, " I think, because I am programmed to think".
