Danzo and Hanzo
This thread is referring to before Akatsuki became a rogue ninja organization consisting of the best of the worst S-Rank criminals who defected from their villages for numerous reasons.
I understand Hanzo reason of getting rid of Akatsuki (Yahiko's organisation) as it could both involve removing him from power and to end war through unorthodox means within his country, which would lead back to the first and main motive of removing him from power.

So Hanzo set a trap for Akatsuki and primarily the leader of the organisation, Yahiko

But if you focus closely on one of the panels you will clearly see a picture of Danzo and if your eyesight is good enough then you will see what the text says "Lead by the leaf ninja, danzo they had come to assassinate us"
This confirmed that Danzo was not a misguided hero but instead a disillusioned villain who thought he was always doing the right thing.
This confirms that he:
-Was responsible for the eradication of the Uchiha
-Putting the child of prophecy on the wrong path
-Destruction of Konoha by Pain
-Allowed Orochimaru to attack Konoha (he didn't intervene)
-Ruined Kabuto and decided his fate by taking him into his twisted world
-Responsible for countless people like Itachi and to a lesser extent Sai
-More untold good intentioned evil deeds pending Lol
What do you think Danzo's Reasons were for working with Hanzo in amegakure?
-Have good connections with surrounding villages to gain advantage in war
-Was against the idea of Peace, as war creates good shinobi and occupies people (refer to 1984)
-Him and Danzo were the same and sympathized with eachother
-Another disillusioned way of trying to obtain power
-Anything else
