Given what we've seen so far in the manga, I am led to believe Chibaku Tensei works based on intent. Notice that when Pain used it he pulled KN6/7 in, Nagato used it and pulled Itachi, Bee and Naruto in though it was interrupted. Now Madara uses one bigger than any we've seen and no one is pulled up, only rocks and rubble.
All this has led me to believe that it's very likely the Chibaku Tensei is 'aimed', that is, it is given a target when it's cast. Why?
On the various occasions where Pain and Nagato used it, it was specifically to trap their opponents while in Madara's case, he wasn't shown to have any such intent. If anything the CT formed really quickly, sucking in rocks and rubble in order to facilitate Madara's plans(Mugen Tsukuyomi) which was his intention at that point in time.
What do you think?

Gravity is the attractive force between 2 Masses. Humans dont have much mass and would have to be really close to it to be pulled in. The larger and more mass you have the more likely you'll be sucked into it.

If you Notice when nagato used it Naruto Itachi and Killer bee werent being pulled up to it. The rocks they were standing are were. And naruto was really close to the one Pain used. Madara was ****ing high in the sky.

I hope you enjoyed this Science lesson

I think you're right. Intent has a big part to do with it, otherwise Nagato would pull himself into CT as well

I doubt this. The gravitational pulled was suppose to pull up any and everything. It was clearly a plot hole and because of it people will now start saying anyone can dodge CT.

Sure the gravitational force is larger for the larger masses from F=GMm/r^2, but that doesn't mean the more massive object will move. Electrostatics and gravitation have similar equations, if I were to put a fixed magnet next to a massive metal ball it would not move, but if i placed a small metal ball of small mass next to the magnet, it would move.
TLDR: Manga does not follow the laws of physics.

No, for though the force exerted on larger masses would be larger, the force exerted by the Earth in the other direction would also be larger. The increase would be exactly the same in both directions for net no difference. Plus we know now that gravity really isn't a force at all but the action on the curvature of space-time; so if Chibaku Tensei ......

Wait a minute ... we're talking about a comic book!

Makes sense since Nagato himself isn't pulled to such a thing as well.

Well all you fans want an explanation for an "asspull" when the answer is obvious U_U

hold it right there Einstein. Gravitational force is the force between two object with masses, and both objects experience the same magnitude of force. It is in basic physics textbook, look it up before spouting general relativity to make yourself more sophisticated (well, it's true that gravity is caused by curvature of space-time, but it is still classified as a force you brute)

Logic inasmuch as it was the rocks being pulled not them, don't you think the more logical thing to do would be to jump off the rocks?
More so, Madara's CT pulled rocks from the ground not off the sky/space so distance doesn't seriously make any difference...plus it could have pulled rocks Sasuke and co were standing on couldn't it?
Nice one still
