I think he use Limbo as well when fought with Hashirama in 2nd battle last time..

I think Limbo's just an invisible temporary shadow Madara which attacks his enemies for him (thus hitting them very hard, after seeing what he did to the bijuu's) which only happens for a short period before it returns to Madara's rinnegan.

Kind of like an undetectable shadow clone insta-yoyo.
