One of the things that I treasure the most about the series is the fact that Kishimoto gives a great deal of importance to terms like balance, equilibrium and equal standings. Like, for example, Naruto and Sasuke being a complete reflection of one another's opposite.
Or the fact that both represent the eternal relationship between light and Darkness...
But lately, there's something that has caught my attention. Normally, when we speak about balance, we think of two opposite, complementing forces right? Poles attract each other and what not...
But Kishimoto has created his own sense of balance through paralleling not two, but THREE forces. What I'm trying to say is, there is also a perfect balance between three forces and Kishimoto's been trying to say this since part one.
The importance of the number 3 is absolutely impressive. Here are the facts that I used to call coincidences, but that now are anything BUT that:
The most perfect stage of the Sharingan BEFORE awakening the Mangekyou, in other words, the greatest level a normal Uchiha could achieve is a Sharingan with THREE TOMOE.
Groups of Genin under a Jonin always include THREE students:
The Doujutsu is also a group of three:
The Ino-Shika-Cho Trio, which has been going on for two generations (as far as we know):
The Sannin: literally, group of THREE ninjas
The Mangekyou Sharingan has always got a geometrical form that looks like a three edged shuriken or spiral, save for Madara's and Sasuke's, which is the DOUBLE of THREE for the normal MS, and the TRIPLE of THREE for the EMS:
This is also a Hindu concept called "Trimutri" which the cosmic functions of creation, maintenance, and destruction are personified by the forms of Brahmā the creator, Vishnu the maintainer or preserver and Śhiva the destroyer or transformer
Now, what am I trying to achieve by telling you this? Simple. We have seen threads about Team 7 having the representatives of two clans: The Uchiha and the Uzumaki. But why then, does Kishimoto give importance to Sakura's symbol in the back of her shirt? And why does she have so much importance as a member of Team 7, even though she's obviously not as strong as Naruto and Sasuke are?
And in a very similar way, between the eternal battle of Senju and Uchiha, isn't there anyone who's willing to calm the waves of war down?
These statements of mine come from some thinking and some research about the meaning of Ying Yang, after playing Pokemon Black 2 for a while. Allow me to show you what I found in the net:
Each of the members of the trio has control of their own types and sides. Reshiram represents the concept of yang and controls Fire, Zekrom represents the concept of yin and controls Thunder, and Kyurem represents the concept of wuji (the absence of yin and yang) and controls Ice; in its alternate formes it can also control Reshiram's fire and Zekrom's thunder to some extent.
This leads me to think that Kishimoto's sense of balance comes from two opposite forces struggling with each other and a third force that balances their power out, and calms everything. This in turn leads me to think that the Uzumaki Clan was the one that helped the Senju and the Uchiha reach consensus, and form the village. This of course didn't stop the conflict... But note this: Isn't it quite curious how once the Uzumaki Clan disappears, the relationship between Senju descendants and the Uchiha becomes worse?
Sakura's role in Team 7 also strikes me as the kind of position where she needs to balance both of her friends out. Unfortunately, she hasn't been capable of doing so during the latest chapters, but I think in the future she may have quite an important role during the last Naruto vs Sasuke.
