Does SO6P has a monument or statue in konoha village? or this is only a simple statue with no relevance to the SO6P...

All very good points mentioned above but I don't think they would build a statue of some guy who is only known in legend and in folk lore

They wouldn't build a statue to someone the people are supposed to look up to? Fictional or not.

Well it seems more likely that the statue is based upon Asura - I mean in Buddhism it symbolizes things whats not to say its symbolizing something in Naruto U_U I mean Kishi bases a lot of his things on mythology etc

That's why they have the hokagerushmore Lol....to look up to the past leaders and try to surpass them!

Exactly, someone has to try and surpass the Sage. Kids need something to strive for. Statue's are built for dumber things.

But the Kages are known to everyone, the sage is known to a select few......they wouldn't build a statue of a fictional character
