I agree, but I see this from a different scenario. Tobirama probably ordered Uzumaki - their distant cousins - to create a seal for Uchiha Doujutsu. As we have seen that it is possible to seal it through Hygua Clan's branch family seal. Seeing that this village was a threat to his Clan's existence, Madara eliminated it. You know, I would love to see Madara's reaction to Tobi and his direct hand in Uchiha Massacre. That would be epic.

I say it happen during the 3rd Great Ninja War and this is why,Kushina was sent to the village to replace Mito as Kurama Host as an exchange student had the Uzumaki village ben destroyed before that the Uzumaki survivors would have ben scattered to the 4 cloners of the Ninja world,their be no way for the village to send for Kushina to come,sines the Uzumaki Kage would need to give His approval to the request. So when Kushina came to the village The Uzumaki Village was intact and lines of communications must have ben Normal. When the 3rd war started Minato was the Sensei of Kakashi,Rin and Obito that war lasted for years because when we see Jiraiya and Nagato and Nagato explains His parent death He was much younger than when Jiraiya found Him, So Madara would need to destroy the village at the beginning of the war to isolate Nagato for His experiment and to prevent the Hokage from sending Help to the Uzumaki,the Start of the war might have ben the destruction of the Uzumaki Village.
