It's been a while since I posted my last theory, so lets try one for posterities sake.
A lot have complained that Sasuke's return to the light side is an asspull on Kishi's part. However, if we look at Karin's history of attraction towards Sasuke, we may gain a little insight into his true nature.
Initially Sasuke's chakra had dazzled Karin, and she fell in love with him. As the story progresses though Sasuke's chakra becomes colder and darker to the point of scaring her.
From that point Karin had noted that Sasuke meant nothing to her, because he was no longer the same person he was before. Mind you, that Karin based her taste in men off their chakra presence even noting that Naruto was the exact opposite of Sasuke. That his chakra was "warm and bright"
This moment is important because Karin is passively sensing Naruto's chakra and not necessarily in a combat situation where she would have to sense the opponents chakra.
When Karin makes her appearance in 627 she sees Sasuke for the first time since being betrayed by him. During their last encounter, Sasuke's chakra terrified Karin, but now she is more than willing to leap back into his arms. Is this because the same chakra that once dazzled her has returned because of Sasuke's resolve to protect the leaf?
If that's the case, Sasuke's resolve was enough to change his entire chakra signature to the point where it no longer scared Karin, which could then also prove the honesty of his intentions.
