[Theory] Theory that may solve the alleged 'Obito plothole'

Anyway basically the evidence I used in the thread for how Obito survived was that he used Kamui because of what Madara said here

It's possible he awakened his MS at that moment because of physical need. It's possible for a Uchiha to awaken a Sharingan in a moment of great stress/need and be unable to use it again afterwards. Evidence of this is here, where Sasuke awakens a 1 tamoe sharingan the night of the uchiha massacre

After this, Sasuke was unable to use the sharingan again, until it once again awakened (this time with 2 tamoe) during the Zabuza/Haku fight.

As far as I'm concerned this is pretty solid evidence that is how Obito survived the boulder. He probably would have died had Madara not saved his life with Zetsu cells, but the Kamui was the reason why he was even still alive at all when Madara found him.

There is also the possibility that he is able to use his S/T jutsu with a 3 tamoe. While there is evidence of this I don't believe it to be true. The main reason why he was shown using his S/T with just a 3 tamoe was so that we couldn't see his Mangekyo sharingan. Seeing the mangekyo would be a dead give-away for who Tobi is since it is the same as Kakashi's. Kishi wanted to keep it a mystery at that time.

He doesn't specifically say that Obito used S/T to get away from the boulder, he just says "it's almost as if you were able to slip away from it" hinting that he had used his S/T to survive. At the time I doubt Madara knew what Kamui was though. He doesn't have the ability himself, and we don't know of any other uchiha who can use it either.

I loved how Tobi turned out to be Obito, but I do find it strange that he survived..

I doubt he used Kamui because Rin and Kakashi talked to Obito while he was under the rock, and Obito even gave Kakashi one of his eye. But.. if u r talking about when the whole place collapsed that forced Kakashi and Rin to retreat.. It's possible, but wasn't that eye already crushed?

By sheer luck that it wasn't crushed but instead pushed down to the back of his skull? THEN Kamui's himself.. Plausible.

Honestly, my take is that Zetsu is the one who saved him in time. Them two are like partners in crime.

I don't think that's when he used kamui though. Half of his body WAS crushed, but remember, after Kakashi and Rin left, more rocks and rubble collapsed onto him. Before this happened he was clearly still alive, but once the rest of the rocks fell on him he would have surely been killed. This is when I believe his kamui saved his life, and he was able to slip through the rocks and survive with only the injuries from the initial boulder.

This seems the most likely scenario looking at his damage afterwards. The one side of his body was destroyed, and he was saved thanks to Zetsu. The only reason why the rest of him wasn't crushed was because of Kamui. At least that's what I think, and seems to be what Kishimoto is implying with what we've seen.

Also explained by what I just said. Obviously the boulder crushed half his body. You see in the chapters where he is with Madara that half of his body is messed up and Madara attached Zetsu to him to save his life. It was when the rest of the rubble collapsed when he used Kamui, not when the initial boulder fell on him crushing half his body.
