I was just realized how similar the process of creating a clone and tailed beast are.
You create a clone by splitting your chakra in half (or however many fractiosn you need, depending on the number) and shaping it into a replication of yourself.
Hagaromo created the tailed beast by splitting the Juubi's chakra into nine fractions, giving them all a unique shape and form.
The only difference is that the user can only split their own chakra and create a shadow clone to copy themself (and maybe use transformation jutsu to take the form of something else), While COAT allows the user to split the chakra of "other" people, thereafter creating a construct formed with said chakra.
Both techniques create an entity based almost entirely off of chakra. They create the necessary external appearance of the character, from legs and toenails, to a nose and ears. However, I believe that clones don't have genitalia or even lungs, as they are only masses of clones and would disperse back into chakra once deactivated. They most likely have a skeletal construct within them formed from the chakra, so that they are able to move like a normal being, fight, ext.
But the only reason that tailed beast don't disperse like simple clones is because their chakra is immensely stronger, allowing them to sustain their presence for centuries at end. There are several holes in this theory.
Q: Why didn't the tailed beast disappear when Kaguya was sealed, seeing how they're tailed beast?
A: Because they were entities created using COAT, which probably makes them enable to disappear like simple clones.
Q: What other organs are replicated within a clone in order to make them function properly?
A: Most likely a brain, seeing how clones and tailed beast both have their own consciousness and are self-aware. A heart wouldn't be necessary, as they are masses of chakra and the performance of a heart wouldn't be required to keep them alive. They must have a digestive track however, a when they eat something is doesn't just flow around their stomachs in a blank mass of chakra.
Q: If a pregnant woman used a shadow clone, would the baby be clones too? Could the clone undergo labor?
A: Considering that the baby is a separate entity, despite being attached to the woman, it would not be cloned.
