Compelling theory. This would even out the rivalry between Naruto and Sasuke.
And we haven't seen Sasuke use Susano'o since, have we?
So there isn't any proof to discourage this theory. ^.^

I don't think Sasuke will get those items to be honest and if he did I think it would cheapen how awesome those spiritual items really are since he would just spam them.

Itachi deserves to have something epic and unique about him that no other character has or will ever have as we all know his most deadly techniques Amaterasu,Tsukuyomi and Susanoo were all spoon fed to his brother he should be left with some form of legacy which will always spark conversations or where he's compared to other strong characters because of his prowess and the weapons in his arsenal much like Minato there both dead yet we all still wonder or compare them to living characters and to me that's a successful writer leaving avenue's like that open for discussion.

It is very plausible that Itachi gave the weapons to Sasuke. Itachi didnt trust Sasuke before he died as a human, but he did trust Sasuke when Itachi died as an Edo. Why not give the weapons to someone he trusts? Someone who could really use that powerup.
Of course there is a high chance that he gave them.
We have seen Itachi his Susanoo without Totsuka sword, when he was in second form.
He used the Magatama. In first form he didnt have totsuka either.

Sasuke his Susanoo has been seen with a sword in first form, bow in second form, his EMS third form has an orb like magatama, that can shoot several, covered in amaterasu. Different forms have shown different weapons.
Next to this, no proof exist in the manga, that says a Susanoo cant swap multiple weapons in a third form.

Madara his Susanoo, was shown with a sword in second/first form and he swapped in that same form, to magatama. ill edit in some sec with the link.

Why cant a Susanoo in third form swap weapons? It is very plausible that it can.

I have added some extra + scans in the post above, which show madara with a second or first susanoo form (They are all the same form in the scans at least, its second form I think) and they have swords, magatama and unsheathed weapons.

Didn't itachi say he loved him before he vanished?, i don't recall saying he trusted him.

Anyway, I doubt itachi would risk Giving sasuke something as powerful as the spirit weapons if there is even a slight chance sasuke would use them against the leaf and naruto.
