Kishi has often tried to portray her as close to "normal" or "real",and yet for some unknown reason forgets to see that real life medics have been practicing Ego defense mechanisms the moment they have decided to immerse themselves in that profession. Repression, dislocation, projection, among others but above all, intellectualization. The latter is something extremely important in her current situation, and it makes me wonder why she keeps crying over the harsh and blunt fact that it really is up to Sasuke and Naruto from now on.

Kinda unfair compare power levels of an army nurse to two reincarnations of of semi-deities.

That aside, her throwing herself into dangerous situations is literally the only way to get character growth in this series.
