I think there is Somewhat a connection between the senju and haruno clan..
But this is hard to think of and we don't have enough information to come at this point

Sakura seems to be the only 1 who noticed its weird of Yamato using a mokuton jutsu..

Not to mention sakura had Minimal near nothing charachter development since shipuuden..
I actually think it her time to shine mokuton would make her atleast sasuke and naruto level.

Yea, as you said it's completely random, I must say I don't think she has a chance at having it. She noticed it was strange with Yamato because she actually was smart enough to know about the 1st, that's all that was. I think she will end up with something great, but I find it highly unlikely it's the first's jutsu. Only people with his Dna could use it so unless Haruno and Senju are closely related (which I really doubt,) then it's just practically impossible.

What you don't understand is the fact that she shouldn't be nor never become at their level. Why would Sakura deserve to be on pair with someone who was treated like sht, had his man goal to become the strongest, worked his ass off all his life, became the village's hero and kept working since day 1 despite every obstacle he came across. Something Sakura lacks a lot. By the way, female characters can't become OP in Naruto -Kishi logic.
