I believe that itachi may have spare the children that were uchiha descendent.Since itachi said that sasuke did not know what the uchiha were plan,maybe that was the reason why he was spared.

The senior members of the uchiha clan were the people who wanted revenge/rebellion against the hokage/elders.The children might be spared during the itachi invasion.Itachi might spare children who were not at the age to understand what was taking place.There might be some uchiha place at different location or adapted like sasuke.

I agree to some extent. It could be possible. Many of the older generation, in the Konoha Village, wouldn't put the children at risk. Especially the Third Hokage.

Edited: Also, you really think Sasuke wasn't the only Uchiha child. If Itachi does go by the "Will of Fire" (Protecting Konoha) saying and not the Uchiha way of "Hatred", then it mostly likely for what Macho Uchiha said could be possibly.

nah i dont think so, sasuke was spared yes for being a child but also for being itachis brother. its very possible that there were other uchihas the same age as sasuke or maybe even younger, but yet they still got killed.
