Alright so, this is a theory based on Exons theory, his theory really had me thinking. The Egyptian culture has always been one of my favorites, to be honest ever since I was a little kid I was interested in it. This Power of Ukitakes.. Kamikake, I have a feeling it has some Egyptian references, and this will be a clue to what kamikake is and this power of Ukitakes. I'm pretty sure that that power has to do with rebirth and healing. Exōn with his theory gave me this idea, as he said the shadow behind Ukitake which is this 'kamikake' looks a lot like the eye of Horus.

The eye of Horus:

Ukitakes kamikake:

Now the eye of Horus is an Egyptian symbol. I will quote from Wikipedia, "In one myth, when Set and Horus were fighting for the throne after Osiris's death, Set gouged out Horus's left eye. The majority of the eye was restored by either Hathor or Thoth (with the last portion possibly being supplied magically). When Horus's eye was recovered, he offered it to his father, Osiris, in hopes of restoring his life. Hence, the eye of Horus was often used to symbolise sacrifice, healing, restoration, and protection."

As we know Kyoraku lost his eye but it now seems to be back in this scan.

Now in Exons first theory he said the he thinks Ukitakes bankai controls time and the posters seemed to think that Ukitake summoned Kyoraku from the past but I don't think that's true. Reason being that Kyoraku doesn't have the eyepatch in this scan while he's still in the head captains quarters with nanao and the old guy.

Now back to the Egyptian stuff, I think Kyoraku was healed by Ukitakes power. As I said earlier Ukitake had a shadow behind him resembling the eye of Horus which symbolises sacrifice, healing, restoration, and protection. The eye of Horus is also often associated Ra the sun god. Why is that important? You will see in a second.

Here we see Ukitake busy doing something with a Lotus like thing infront of him.

Yay a Lotus! But why is the lotus important? Well in a tie with Egyptian culture the Lotus is featured in Egyptian art - the blue lotus being the most common. For the Egyptians, the lotus symbolized the sun and rebirth. The sun god, Ra, formed from Nun, emerged from the lotus. As a rebirth symbol, the lotus was associated with the god Osiris and his cult. Osiris is the Egyptian god of the dead. He is also the dying and resurrected god. Images of Osiris include showing the Four Sons of Horus standing on a lotus in front of Osiris. In the Book of the Dead, "transforming oneself into a lotus" is synonomous with resurrection.

As you can see the lotus ties with Ra the sun god and Horus and Osiris. Symbolizing rebirth and healing.

So why would Ukitake use Kamikake? What would he want to heal or give life to? Well as we know the soul society is really low on numbers. Yumichika, ikkaku, Yachiru, Rose, Kensei, Toshiro, Rangiku, Hisagi, and Kira Are not in good shape, Unohana is dead, Kyoraku lost an eye. I think Ukitake is using Kamikake to heal and revive most of those I mentioned, aside Unohana, I don't see her comming back.

I also think that Kamikake could possibly take a ginormous toll on Ukitakes body. I think maybe he used it before and that possibly why he's been in super bad shape all this time.

It might be a bit far fetched but I think it might be possible. Thoughts?

Could've sworn I've seen this exact post on this forum already.
Not the exact same. She based her theory on mine, and she took permission for that, so you have seen another version of it.
OT :
This was great, I had some other ideas about that, but I can say this is mostly likely how it is.
