Now it all makes sense. Madara couldn't even use much of the Rinnegan before this and I think it's due to Edo Tensei holding him back. Since he was technically dead, the Rinnegan powerup didn't really occur beyond what he had before. Rinnegan's Samara is based on rebirth and the whole time he was in a limbo state of between dead and alive. To transcend states in Samsara, one needs to actually be reborn.

I think he will surpass Obito in Jin form. Why? Obito in Jin form only has the power of the Juubi. Madara has the power of Hagaromo by merging the two bloodlines. Plot dicates it. Otherwise, it would be so anticlimatic.




We will see the true power of the Rinnegan very soon.

No way that a person has to go through his whole life going though all that trouble to get the Rinnegan, gamble on the chance that someone will revive him, just to get the slight power ups that we have seen so far. It just doesn't make sense. The greater reward comes now.

No way. To transcend a to a higher state in Samsara, one needs to be reborn. Madara was never reborn so he didn't transcend states. His Rinnegan as a Edo was as powerful as the Rinnegan he awaked as an extremely feable old man. That's why Nagato's mastery of the Eyes were beyond his. That's why he didn't use ST or CT. Because he couldn't. Because the eyes he was using were effectively brand new. But not anymore.

Besides, the cost to get the Rinnegan is way higher than that to get MS or EMS. It must have a way higher payoff.

He is much stronger than ever before. Just like MS to EMS, Madara is now at the next stage after this rebirth. He is the closest thing to Hagaromo we have ever seen.

No it's because Rinnegan is based on Samsara. For true transcendence to occur, Madara must be reborn.

Besides, Kishi has a pattern regarding the Sharingan. The greater the cost, the greater the powerup. The Rinnegan had the most expensive cost. So the powerup must be enormous. Kishi waited for just this moment to show it.
