*First off, please don't flame me if it's "obvious" to you, others may not know this and I want to express my theory to everyone.
If you read the latest Manga, it shows that Obito/Kakashi both activated the Mangekyou Sharingan with Rin's death. With this came a lot of confusion on how and why Kakashi was able to activate it with Obito, and why hasn't Kakashi been using or ever used the Mangekyou till Shippuden.
Well to be clear, Madara and Obito both have stated that his eyes are 'connected' and are both needed to unlock their full potential. And now we know that the eyes do not need to be in the same person's head to be unlocked to their full potential.
But wait, why hasn't Kakashi used the Mangekyou in the regular Naruto? Simple, when he unlocked the Mangekyou he passed out right afterwards, Kakashi may not even realized that he unlocked it when he passed out.
Another explanation is that since he wasn't an Uchiha, the overwhelming strain of change in the eyes could have drained his stamina and made him pass out.
To add on to that, Kakashi never had the stamina to pull Kamui off until he was way older and gained a lot more stamina. Even chakra could have made him pass out, the amount of chakra needed to use the Mangekyou could have drained him to a point of passing out, since he did fight Hidden Mist and used Chidori.
Of course Kakashi not being an Uchiha, he can't really use Kamui's full potential as Obito has (turning intangible)
Since Kakashi and Obito's eyes are connected shouldn't they have gone blind by Obito spamming Kamui?
Maybe since Kakashi hasn't used Kamui whatsoever since he was older, it could be that he hasn't put strain on the eye to make it go blind. Meaning that since Kakashi never used it until now, Obito won't go blind until Kakashi strains his eye to that point. -this could be invalid if Obito/Kakashi have EMS, or could mean that using Kamui doesn't effect the eye sight at all-
Now, if my theory is right about Kakashi not knowing that he unlocked Mangekyou and never used it in battle, that could be why Minato never knew about Obito being the Masked Man. Which fits that plot hole of Minato should have known it was Obito perfectly.
