--its safe to say madara is a peacelover like itachi...(big brothers don't want little brothers to get hurt)
--Madara's older brothers all died...
--He doesn't want to die and not be able to protect izuna...
--Tajima makes them fight because now they have no choice(in their minds)

something tells me Izuna did more fighting than Madara did back then...
he and tobirama already knew eachother I guess
they used to have tagteam battles with their fathersjk but kinda

the younger siblings want to protect & impress the older siblings...

look at this Tajima says he " finally ready to get your hands dirty madara"
as if madara doesn't take part in the war, yet he does train for it because he may be needed...

just like when Hanabi says"stronger than hers" referring to when Hiashi said
"neji's byakugan was stronger than her older sister hinata's"

basically they fight for eachother to the fullest and to outdo eachother in a way..

even Izuna didn't know about the Sharingan of Madara's....Nor did Tajima (look what they both say)

my original guesses were

- madara didn't have one yet, but was bragging about being an uchiha with potential to unlock it.

-he just unlocked it when he went to save izuna from hashirama

-he didn't want people after his sharingan. ( uchiha or senju)

-izanagi/izanami= he heard bout older uchiha being arrogant/ he doesn't want to be like that.
(maybe his dead older brothers were arrogant and died taken their opponents too lightly)

-kept it a secret because your not supposed to tell the enemy clans about yourself.(strangers)

-maybe the family thought madara was too soft to kill..(im shrugging my shoulders)hehe

my new guess is this: why madara didn't reveal he had a sharingan(or kept it a secret)

did you mean, like itachi? i mean after everything was found out, he was the peaceful one even in his fighting style. sasuke on the other hand, is arrogant to a degree and more prepared to pick a fight to display his abilities and dominance. also like izuna, and tobirama, sasuke was and is fighting for his clan and family. he seeks revenge, even after itachi's testimonial.

I'm sure he didn't had sharingan previously, he said he had sharingan or was going to because he is an Uchiha destined to have one. He awaken his sharingan after saving his brother, simply because of the psychological torment he went through after realizing his friend was a Senju. So in his mind, his friend died, which awakened his sharingan.
