It seems like Minato is going to give a big present for Naruto. Being a father is a duty, so protecting him and being there to support him doesn't count as a present. It's something else that everyone here knows... Kurama's Yin Chakra.

Proof B: Minato's destroyed arm (Chapter 640)

Proof C: Minato's Arm can't regenerate, since Obito's new Element is in fact Elimination of Mass/Chakra, that is, Ninjutsu.

Proof D: Cliffhanger. Yin Kurama manifested inside Minato's consciousness and recognized Naruto as somebody who loves his parents, and that was worthy enough to persuade his other half.

These things given, I theorize the end of Minato in the next few chapters inside a brutal battle, an emotional farewell from Minato to Naruto, and he giving the other half of Kurama to Naruto.

Minato will die due the Onmyoudon element reversing its state as Edo Tensei, and Naruto will have to fight again to conquer the other half of Kurama.

The following chapters will be interesting nonetheless.

If Kishi were to take out Minato just like that, making him look like fodder next to Tobirama, that would a huge disappointment to fans, and heck, maybe the manga sales may even go downhill. So, I think Kishi will give Minato a better role than that of dummy to be badmouthed by Obito, get his ass kicked after so much talk.

If Obito was smart this war wouldn't have started. All he needed to do was kamui Naruto the first time they meet. Nine tails captured, problem solved.

Yes, but Naruto will not have to fight Kurama's other half. The fight between them the first time was so Naruto could take a portion of Kurama's chakra away from him. For bijuu mode they work together and meld their chakra together, so no need to fight.

I hope he does, this "War" needs more tragedy, didn't we reach the climax back when the Juubi was revived? WTF happened? Maybe some actual Kage deaths, IDK something meaningful. The only semi-central character we've lost is Neji.

The gift thing definitely got me thinking. I think that although he will give the other half to Naruto, he is not going to die, or at least not without a bang worthy of the Yellow Flash. Besides I still want to see that technique he keeps mentioning haha.

Minato offering Naruto the other half of Kyuubi is pretty much a given.

Well, Minato dying again wouldn't really be neither a "Tragedy" nor a "Casualty", seeing how he's already dead. There's no way any Edo Tensei will make it past the war anyway.
