Theory: Kotoamatsukami doesn't work for killing the opponent (very short thread)

Well, i'll start this thread because i see danzo's KA being a lil bit over-rated, if danzo could use KA a lot thanks to senju DNA, then why didn't he kill tsunade to become hokage, plus, he could have killed everyone if he wanted, well... the answer is KOTOAMATSUKAMI DOESN'T WORK IN OFFENSIVE WAYS.

Kotoamatsukami is a genjutsu that works without the opponent noticing he's under genjutsu, like Danzo proved in the 5 kages summit.

So we can assume that if Danzo uses KA in an opponent, this one will not know he's being controled, he'd just think he's acting by his own decition...

Well, my theory is based in the possible fact that if Danzo uses KA on the opponent to KILL HIM (make him suicide), the opponent will notice he's under genjutsu, since the jutsu works with the subconcience, but maybe when the opponent realizes that he's grabbing a kunai and putting it in his troath, he will realize he is being controlled and the jutsu will be canceled.

Why did KA work on Mifune: That's simple, Danzo was controlling his mind and controlling what mifune should say, so mifune didn't realize he was under genjutsu because saying bad things to the other kages wasn't a big enough fact to make him say: "this is not me, i'm being controlled", but if Danzo uses KA in mifune to kill him, mifune would think "What's happening, i dont want to kill myself" , BAM ka is cancelled.

Complete contradiction.....It controls them without them knowing... it's impossible for them to figure out its been used on them without external help , as they believe it's their own actions.. if he makes them think they are suicidal..they will think it and not question it what so ever

I agree to an extent. However Itachi did seem to think KA could make Sasuke protect Konoha instead of destroy it, which would be pretty out of character for Sasuke before he reunited with Itachi.

he can only use it every few hours.. what kind of damage do you think he can pull off?

Danzo waited for the right time to make a move... and he made that move on a much bigger position than just hokage.. he tried to become head of the world alliance...

This genjutsu influences you to make decisions the way the caster wants it. So, for instance, say you were going to use an all-powerful technique, KA would be used to make you decide against it. There is no proof that it would make an opponent commit suicide. Though, you do bring up a good point. I will rep you for this.

It's a possibility, and it would explain why Danzo never made Tsunade or Hiruzen commit hari kari or hara kiri or whatever...
But I think that he could manipulate the person to a point that would make them suicidal within limited boundaries, like implementing false, painful experiences to the point where they would want to kill themselves

Like if he used KA on say...
Sakura, and made her believe that Sasuke died, and she would kill herself(I'm sure most of us wish this happened :snick, to that extent, but not killing herself and instead going to her room listening to broken heart songs, and then learns that sasuke's alive, and snap out of it. But that's of course all theoretical, and I say this because KA is a long term jutsu, since Itachi's original intentions for it were to change sasuke's knowledge and make him love konoha again

you'd have to give a use a command not rash enough that they'll realize it's a genjutsu (which you can only do with prior knowledge) but if they don't know about then they won't have any reason to speculate therefore making it easier to kill themselves xd
