This thread is divided into sections. I didn't include pics because this thread is already too long. So ,let's get straight to the point without pics because you know all too well the manga facts.
Why is it similar? It's because Juubi is related to the animal path,deva path and others.
Firstly, we know that all chakra comes from Juubi. Then, this means that somewhat, animals receive chakra from the Juubi too which leads to the fact that animals intended for ninjas are related to the Juubi. This is corroborated by the animal path which can control several animals. Why does rinnegan allow one to summon many animals? Usually ninjas have contract for some summons but nagato can control this many with the rinnegan, an eye close to the juubi.
Then, there is the asura path. The juubi hasn't shown much to entirely prove this but there are a few elements that suggest they are related. Juubi has horns like the asura path on its head. Asura path can create arms- Juubi's jin can create chakra arms.(bijuus that come from the juubi also allows the host in its jinchuriki forms to create chakra arms-something the jinchuriki of the juubi, the original beast can achieve) Asura path is the path that can create. It can create armors, energy attacks and arms. It shows technology that is advanced to ninjas. It shows an advanced creation -it can create blades,rockets and giant beams. Of course, juubi still cannot do this but if you continue reading on, you will realise later that it should in its perfect form because asura path is his power, not a power created by shinobi.
Madara used the gedo mazo to cast rinbo hengoku which looks like a gravity attack(repel). Then, gedo mazo can use deva techniques. Gedo mazo is the body or empty shell of juubi.
God tree was able to absorb chakra like preta path.
Gedo mazo is capable of using the chains that bind jinchuriki's chakra. Something, the outer path of the rinnegan can do. Tobi was using the outer path's chains to restrain the bijuus before.
Juubi in its first form has shown speed in its first form. Remember when it was said that it moves quite fast for its size. + The juubi jinchuriki was quite fast in its actions. The path that displays these feats is the human path which is noted to be specialised at taijutsu-speed,agility and strength. Obito as jinchuriki had all these 3 things.
Gedo mazo is capable of extracting human souls . Nagato used the gedo mazo to do a dragon-like technique which killed several ninjas of hanzo by removing their souls.
+ The rinne tensei no jutsu is capable of reviving anyone by first lead the soul to the body and then give lifeforce. Obito couldn't die because the gedo mazo has incredible life force and gedo mazo has already used outer path techniques(chains to bind bijuus or jinchurikis).

I believe that Juubi is also the outer path because nagato had to link with the gedo mazo(shell of juubi) to use that soul removal technique against hanzo's men. My theory is that gedo mazo can use this technique but back then, it was powerless because it didn't have its chakra and wasn't its original form:Juubi.
