I for myself didn't see any moment when itachi killed someone. Even at the massacre you never actually see him killing someone. And as for Shisui Uchiha I also have quite an idea. Someone posted a thread about MS a while ago and it was stated that it awakens if you see the death of a close friend, thus releasing strong emotions. SO could it be that Itachi didn't kill anyone or is it? I for myself aren't sure about this thing, but actually it would make sense. Tho it would mean we wouldn't know the truth about the insident yet.
This leads me to my second theory. As we know Sasuke is going with Oro to a place to "learn the truth". Could it be that Oro and Itachi all along worked together for sasukes Sake. Please don't start a flamewar, but consider these facts:
1. From the very first meeting Oro wanted Sasuke to become stronger(even if he wanted his body).
2. He let himself be absorbed, what is really dumb, as he should've known sasuke's nature, plan and strengths.
3. after he was "seasled" in the totska blade, and the fight is over you can notice a snake sliding away. I would give the page here as proof but I dunno how to do it.
4. He is "back alive" and helps sasuke and will most liekly give him another power up.
Considering these facts, it is possible that he gave Sasuke his power, so that he could "deafeat" Itachi. Now the only thing that needs to be is a reasoning. Well, again after Oro awakens he things that Sasuke is different from when he and Tobi manipulated him. It could just be, that they need sasuke to fullfill their Plan, as he is the only Uchiha alive with EMS. Most liekly Sasuke will find out something horrible and fell despair. They will push him to activate the ET and Naruto will finally fight against him.
