ok we all know that itachi said that to achieve MS u must kill ur closest friend and we all stick to that, but recently i was started to think that it was a not true since kakashi also achieve MS, and after that sasuke achieve MS without killing his own brother and then there is this uchiha shisui they revealed that he also have MS and before the uchiha incident he gave itachi one of his eye and killed himself that's what itachi said but when itachi told sasuke about the ms he said "he killed shisui to active MS" so which one is the truth ?

so i came up with this assumption that to achieve MS u have to witness the death of someone close to u, for example itachi saw shisui died, sasuke saw itachi died, and kakashi saw obito died, that's explain how kakashi achieve MS but maybe at that time he do not realize that or because his sharingan is still not good enough.

so what did u think ?

You have to see someone vlose to you dying. Kakashi saw Obito when he was dying, Sasuke saw Itachi, Itachi saw Shisui's death and Shisui saw someone elses death.

I like the way you laid it out it makes perfect sense. I just wonder about Kakashi. When he realized he had the MS.
But did Itachi see Shisui die? I wonder if that's why they were both missing that night. Shisui probly gave him the eye then killed himself. hmmmmm
All in alll good theory dude.

kakashi had no sharingan when obito was dying..
he gained the sharingan (which was just awakened by obito) while obito was dying..

so no awakening of MS while obito was dying.

No, it's not like you will awaken Mangekyo immediately. Kakashi wasn't even Uchiha, so it took long time for him to awake it.

i think its more DEEP than that (fyi i didnt read the whole thing bcuz im feeling too lazy) . i think its to do with feeling regret from a loss, but not just any regret or loss, its HEAVY regret and loss together, hence killing your BEST friend , he/she will soon really miss that person because they cant live without their best friend, then they will feel regret because their MS hasnt yet arrived because the final condition hasnt been met, so the person regrets killing their best friend who they miss dearly for an assumed power that they changed their assumption on. when the regret is met...*BAM* "mangekyo sharingan acquired"(in a female robotic voice tone)

Totally correct. I think the same. But maybe a person must not die.
I think loosing a friend or loosing a strong bond could also activate Ms. Loosing is not dieing. Maybe Naruto couldve activated MS too if he had sharingan, cause of Sasuke.
But a friend dieing is the most proved theory.

I think that Kakashi suspected the way to activate the MS was misunderstood and formed the theory of loss/regret/guilt on his own. I also think that alot of us missed a huge clue to this when we see Kakashi's real reason for always being late. He was at a memorial reliving his worst memories over and over everyday. He isn't an Uchiha so rather than a single event it took many, many more. It could be thought of as very twisted training for Kakashi.

Nice post, kakashi however is still in question, I have this feeling kakashi achieved his MS during the first series, correct me if i'm wrong, but don't you achieve MS with a fully matured normal sharingan and undergoing intense stress or emotional distress. So maybe he unlocked it when Itachi casted Tsukuyomi on him.

the mangekyo sharingan is activated when you lose someone dear to you and you are an uchiha.for example.for sasuke.the person closest to him was his brother since he loved him so much but even with the hatred that he carried against him for killing the clan when he learnt the truth about it and he started crying the painand sorrow in him made his sharingan to evolve into the mangekyo form.mostly if the mangekyo sharingan is form.it means two things either you are sad because of the death of a loved one or you want pure revenge.

sasuke- if was true then kakashi could never awaken the mangekyo.

leau- i wondered that myself. i do think reliving obito's death repeatedly is valid too.. didn't he comment it took awhile to achieve it?
