Okay first of all it's KCM not BM. He was wearing a cloak before entering KCM so, it gave the appearance of BM.

First you have to take a look at how Naruto got KCM.
- Naruto released the seal and fought the Kyuubi inside himself.
- When the Kyuubi was weakened he took a part of the Kyuubi's chakra.

As you see here the chakra enters himself and then he placed it above his "body" so, he isn't using it all the time.

Now if you compare that to the way Minato sealed the Kyuubi.
- The Kyuubi was released from Kushina's control by Obito.
- Kushina restrained the Kyuubi in order for Minato to use the RDS to seal apart of the Kyuubi's chakra into himself.

I am sure Minato knew that he would get KCM from doing that, he isn't an idiot. The reason why he didn't use it is because there is no need to. He was about to die why would he even show off KCM? Also this may have just been a last second power up for him.

I understand that it looks like a mixture of both KCM and BM. It is most likely.
- Minato sealed more of the Kyuubi's chakra in himself than Naruto took from Kurama but, he the chakra he took only weakened Kurama. He most likely didn't take exactly half.
- When Naruto and Kurama became friends he had access to all of Kurama's chakra and they merged their chakras.
- Also Minato had the Yin chakra while Naruto had the Yang chakra giving them a different "form".

This seems like the most plausible way for him to achieve KCM/BM mixture or just a different KCM mode. Discuss.

One thing, I/You/We forgot, Minato sealed "that" half inside the Reaper Death God. Possibly. What you are saying is that he did what is said to be "complex". Their is more to the story than I think.
