[Theory] How Madara awakened Rinnegan .

This is going to be a short theory . Enjoy .

Okay . Madara stated that he awakened the Rinnegan when his life was almost over . Why is this ? We all know that Madara fought Hashirama when he was an adult , and from that battle , he obtained Senju DNA (that is needed to awaken the Rin'negan) . But why didn't he awaken the Rinnegan when he was adult ? And why did he awaken it when he was a bitter old man and his life was almost over . [

I think it's because felt hopeless . Yes , he felt hopeless . Notice how he says "When my life was almost over" . At those moments , Madara thought that he was a failure . He felt hopeless because there was no one to continue his Tsuki no me plan . He felt despair . The moment he felt all these , he awakened a new Dojutsu ; The Rin'negan .

I think that excatly at those moments when he awakened the Rin'negan , Obito slipped through , and thus Madara's hope came back .

It makes sense because :

Mangekyou Sharingan can be awakened when you feel pain of your loved one getting killed . Tobirama explained that .
Rinnegan can be awakened when you feel hopeless and despair .

Well I think Rikudo's is another case . He might have awakened it because he was too powerful ? :erm: But what you said is plausible too .

I beleive to awaken the sharingan and the rinnegan the requirements are quite same....

Loss of love or Life threatening situations. Madara awakened his rinnegan when he was about to die. (That can be also taken as Life threatening situation) Nagato showed his rinnegan after he lost his parents....

Well , since all power ups an Uchiha gets , all are from emotional side , so yes it might be plausible .

This is plausible, especially considering previous accounts of Uchiha awakening their doujutsu. Though don't be surprised if it's only part of the truth. Great theory.^^
