[Theory] Hashirama's death.

Since Hashirama is basically the Goku representation of Naruto.. I would say he died the same way Goku was about to die.. Disease.

He had the same ability Tsunade has ( regeneration ) , so I highly doubt this.

he died due to depression. may be he fell ill like itachi and died. he was also long lived enough to meet tsunade.

Quite possibly or he died in a similar way like tobirama. The ninja's of Hashirama's era were beast.
