It is unlikely that Hashirama killed Izuna. His nature alone would guard against it. However I believe that since Hashi was Hokage and all ALREADY... He might have made a military decision that cause the death of Izuna. If what we know to be true that Izuna might have given Madara his eyes then why would he have been sent out to war to die? I mean if you have no eyes surely you'd be staying inside? Yes although Madara is depicted as being insecure and driven to be the best despite -ALWAYS- coming short, just as Danzo was towards Hiruzen, he would need greater reason to want to kill Hashi.
All in all Hashi sent Izuna out into war or atleast on a mission/ Maybe even before he "gave" his eyes to Madara and he died; but it is unlikely that Hashi killed Izuna.
