Theory Demonic Statue of the Outer Path's Purpose

Quite aside from Nagato's original usage of the Statue, the fact that both him and Tobi have been sealing the tailed beasts in it, its shape, and the 'bandage' with 9 eyes in it makes me think it's more than just a statue - it's the body Tobi plans to reincarnate the Juubi in.

After all, doesn't the silhouette of the Juubi look an AWFUL lot like Gedo Mazo would if it had the tails and the eye? The 'blindfold' on the Demonic Statue could even COVER the juubi's eye... or where it would be. I don't know how Tobi would plan on doing this and as every Naruto fan knows, Kishi has led more than a few people onto wild theories with silhouettes alone... but I think my idea has merit.

I'd post pics to compare the two but as this is my first post, I'm not allowed to link anything yet.

Yes, but I'm not saying this is the original body, I'm saying it's the body he plans to reformulate or revive the Juubi into, seeing as it'd be rather difficult to get the original back... after all, if the tailed beasts can live in Jinchuuriki or be sealed into jars like Shukaku and Gyuuki, why couldn't he revive the Juubi into a semi-sentinent statue before sealing it in his own body?

Nice theory IMO.

All I know about Gedo Mazo is that it needs chakra to perform techniques, as we've seen during the first time Nagato summoned it, it absorbed a certain amount of his chakra to perform the phantom dragon technique, you know the one that absorb/free the soul of anyone it touches.

So when Tobi had the tailed beasts (other than Kyuubi and Hachibi) inside it, it could give the allied shinobi a hell of a fight in the middle of the war, so that's it, the more chakra is kept inside it, the more power it has.

I won't be surprised if it has transformed into the Juubi itself after having all of the Tailed Beasts, or their chakra, lol.
