The box was thought to be able to grant the person that opens it any wish, though, according to Gamabunta,this is simply a myth derived from people who were too desperate to put genuine efforts into their dreams, and in reality it simply corrupts whatever enters within its confines. The box has such powers that it once allowed Kusagakure to take over the world during the time of the Sage of Six Paths. Once news of it had resurfaced, all villages stop any conflict to deal with the box. It requires an immense amount of chakra to open.
Once opened, a monster named Satori,called the puppet of the box, comes out. The puppet's job is to capture enemies and throw them into the box. Enemies thrown into the box become comrades. If no one is controlling the puppet, it goes berserk and tries to suck everything into the box. The box closes when the puppet is forced back into the box or the medium is killed.
The box is said to cause everything it takes people turned corrupted and if the beast isn't controlled it goes berserk kinda like the juubi......
Theory: Could the juubi turned itself evil???? Was it human or even a heavnly being??? Because as powerful as the juubi breaking free from this box would have been hard but still would have let him out! The juubi wasn't said by manga or anime to be truly or was found evil
Theory 2: The sage put a all out attack aganist the box with his followers and that the sage fought against its creatures sealing them back with his fuuinjustu sealings.....but wonder if the sage even stop war because its said everyone put there own war aside to deal with the box.
Theory 3: The juubi created the box as a tool of hate and corruption for war......and with this he created wars and until the sage interferred with juubi and the boxs true purpose and then cuased the war era and the fight between rikudou sennin and juubi......
