I think Boruto becomes jealous of Kawaki because of the attention Naruto gives him. It becomes too much for him to handle and he leaves the village. I think it's for the best because Kara can probably teach him more about Karma and Jougan. Boruto's main arsenal is beyond the scope of what anyone in konoha is able to train him for anyway. He's probably far stronger than anyone realizes.

Ignoring that she's still a kid that brings up another point. Boruto really only puts Hima above himself if she bods with Kawaki that'll rustle him further. He will challenge Kawaki and get raped forcing him to run away out of shame and humiliation(not that he's not already of the gutter). It is possible he'll join Karl at that point while Kawaki gets attached to Hima and a Rin type relationship is born. Her death will be even more epic I can't wait for Kawaki to solo the 7th and Borat.

Good point. Boruto's biggest struggle thus far has been Naruto's attention and now Naruto is literally following behind this guy that Boruto hates 24/7.
