I reckon the sun represents the will of ashura, and the crescent represents the will of indara.

Here madara is holding a staff (crescent looking), what i believe is that this staff represents the crescent moon and the will of indara, which madara carries

Here obito is holding a staff which is a full circle with rings around it. I believe this staff represents the sun and the will of ashura. (why obito would obito a evil Son Of A Bi**h carry the will of ashura, this is because obito was never really evil it was his mind which was altered/twisted, from having the dream to become hokage to being controlled by madara mentally.) and to top it off obito has recently had achange of heart and has decided to become Hokage !!

This is how. thew sage appears to be holding a staff with both indara and ashura's will. this would make sense since he is the father of the boys, and he has a neutral look on the shinobi world, or he'd be getting naruto out on the battle field ASAP informing naruto how to beat madara. The sage is neither good nor bad
My question is, is that what staff will Naruto be wielding, ashura's ? Or a custom one of his own
