Considering all the SM Minato vs Orochimaru/Kabuto threads, it got me thinking.
So Orochimaru was an imperfect sage or not one at all. Yet, here's the contradiction. Orochimaru couldn't be a sage and hasn't displayed sage abilities, yet curse mark is his senjutsu chakra. Jiraya, an imperfect sage, had a 5 in stamina while Orochimaru had a 3.5, which is far less significant. So what senjutsu does he have? I think this might explain things.
Ok, look at how much he looks like a toad, and that's considered impressive. Jiraya was highly respected as a sage by fukasaku. So what does that make Orochimaru, who was stated to not be able to master it and had lower reserves than Jiraya? Answer: This.
I think that given that Jirya had a lot of toad characteristics and was considered great, that Orochimaru, who was considered pretty bad at it, would look even more like a snake than Jiraya looks like a toad. So Orochimaru's "white snake form" may very well be his sage mode. This would explain things.
Due to low reserves, Orochimaru couldn't become a sage. What this means that when he attempted to do so, he was always brought on death's door. The last step to becoming a statue. Also, it could be that Orochimaru constantly needs to switch bodies because the unbalanced senjutsu destroys his body. Your thoughts?
