Theory°Relation | Kaguya and Kamui

Kamui is the word for a divine being in Ainu mythology, although it is almost never written with kanji in modern times. In a more general Japanese context, Kamui refers to the might and majesty of the gods, particularly the Shintō Kami.

Kishimoto has been influenced by Ainu mythology on many contexts of the manga. Kamui is one of them.
In Ainu mythology Kamuy or Kamui is a word for devine spiritual beings. It is often associate with Might of the Gods.
This fits exceptionally well with Kaguya and her God valour.
There are several Kamuys (Kamui-s) in Ainu legends.

Moshirikara Kamuy is an Ainu god said to have created the world. The words used to describe Moshikara's might are : created the earth,shaping it and preparing it for humans to exist.
Notice the similarity with description of Juubi said to create the world

Pauchi Kamuy is the Ainu evil spirit of insanity. This Kamuy was born in Willow Soul River in High Heaven (Pikun Kando)

Pauchi Kamuy settled onto the earth to plague humanity with insanity. It was said that several villages were wiped out by its contagion.
This can be related to the change between names how people acknowledged Kaguya as the Rabbit Goddess and worshipped her but then they started to fear her demonic aura

Shiramba Kamuy is the Ainu god of wood,grains and vegetation. It is also considered the kamuy of household goods made of wood.This is an easy connection to Hashirama Senju.

Kamui in the manga

Kamui allows the user to transfer anything to another dimension. Once a target is sent to this dimension, it is unable to escape. Kakashi Hatake likens the characteristics of this technique to those of the Flying Thunder God Technique, but notes that it seems to be much more versatile since it requires neither a seal nor a summoning tattoo to be performed.The side of the eye using the technique determines the range and detailed properties.

The short-range version of Kamui, belonging to Obito's right eye, has a unique variation of teleportation akin to intangibility. When activated, any part of the user's body that overlaps with a solid object is seamlessly warped to the other dimension, making it appear as though he is phasing through them.

As stated above Obito can slip parts of his body to his Kamui dimension. The physical form of his body gets transferred to the other dimension but a visual plane of his body parts still remains in the real world.
I think Kaguya is using a very similar technique. Instead of slipping or phasing body parts to the other dimension. She is phasing the dimension to the real world.

But then why doesn't Kaguya phase her own body throughout dimensions ?

Obito already stated that a Juubi jiinchuriki cannot slip body parts between dimensions. The Juubi's mass or energy can't exist between 2 worlds at the same time.

Madara demonstrated that a Juubi jinchurikii can travel into another dimension but can't slip through or travel through between two worlds at the same time.

That is why Kaguya can't slip throughout dimensions but can phase her other worlds into the real one.
In a way she is too strong for her own self ; she can't surpass her own potential.

i was hoping kaguya was using a restricted yet full version of kamui. no phasing but she can open gates. it cant be tho bc her portal goes directly to something. when she puts her arm in it comes out thru another portaal. kamui has a paralel dimension. unless its a special tech... i like the part about connecting the worlds and her being unable to overcome her own power.

Okay, this makes sense after a careful read. It makes sense that Madara was able to transfer his body to Kamui as Juubi Jin yet not Obito in the difference of eyes of Kamui. I guess in a way, you could say that Kaguya is using Kakashi's form of Kamui to phase her world in and out of what we know as the real world. It's a shame hers doesn't also work like Obito's, she really is squandering her own potential Lol

Btw, I didn't see much if a correlation of Kaguya being feared as the Rabbit Godess and that Gof of Insanity you mentioned. It didn't take away from your point but from what you said, I just didn't see the same connection you did.

I think Obito's Kamui is an inferior version of what Kaguya does and that his Sharingan power was derivated by her middle eye

I added the value of relation with Ainu mythology since Kaguya was worshiped and adored by people and then she started to be feared as a Demon goddess. In the beginning she just wanted to defeat her enemies and then she became obsessed with power. Kamuy of Insanity brings insanity onto people.
I really think Obito MS ability is an inferior version of Kaguya's power

It works both ways, Hashirama was acknowledged as the God of All Shinobi and the Shinju is known as the God Tree. It feels more proper to me to relate it with a human form

I see where you coming from now. Though I don't remember the manga saying the Kaguya was ever one of those people who were really adored at first. Maybe I just don't remember it. And I would imagine so since Obito's eye derives from Kaguya in a sense. While Kamui is parallel with the real world, Obito can't bring Kamui to the real world. While Kaguya seems like she not only has multiple dimensions, but she can bring them into the real world at ease and travel in and out at will.
