they used his writing stle because its difficult for 2 human being to have a EXACT match in the way they write the killer sent letters and when they arrested the guy they saw how his personality might fit. so they got a letter from the killer that they collected as evidence and asked him to write somthing. when he did they took it and compared them and lord and behold they matched and he was arrested. the reason why the legend goes because many people believed there was someone else involved but no was ever found to be in accomplice. he used a zip gun ( a home made one shot gun) to kill his victims following the turning of a new zodiac sign and he was caught during the gemini sign.

no the zodiac was never caught? the only main suspect was Arthur Leigh Allen. but he did not have dna or fingerprints that match the letters or the crimes.

their was a guy in boston
one in NY
2 in britain
several others

i thought you mean the guy i just sent you i know of the "copy cat" not of the actual one sorry bout that i do know some about the orginal though. he was never caught and he was thought be a relative to one of the victims. a police officer on his case in 2012 wrote a book. he is still on america's most wanted. california and nevada was his "grounds" for killing. because serial killers will set up a terriotory for which they will never well almost never leave because it feels like a safe zone

actually the zodiac mostly killed within cali. riverside,san berandino,san fransico etc.

I have heard of the Zodiac Killer and I think I even watched the movie a few years ago. For me he has the same mysterious aura about him as Jack The Ripper
