There have been numerous claims that Uzumaki Naruto is the man who will become the true new Sage of Six Paths and succeed where Hagoromo failed. This is however faulty if you ask me, as it makes little to no sense that Uzumaki Naruto will become just the same as Hagoromo was. I will use this thread to explain why Uzumaki Naruto will never become like Hagoromo and why he is not the reincarnation of him either. So let's get started shall we, and know that this will most likely not contain a summary as it would ruin the actual point of this thread.
In order to fully explain, I will first explain why Hagoromo failed in his goal to achieve true peace. We know that Hagoromo was born into the lineage of a princess, but we aren't fully aware if he was ever a prince or if their kingdom had fallen before that. It may have fallen at the hands of the Juubi, meaning that Hagoromo had a reason to seek revenge upon the beast. However, it may also be that never happen at all. Now, after the world had been thrown into chaos after chaos after wars, Kaguya stopped the endless wars by stealing the power from the Shinju, thus awakening the Juubi.
When she created peace, she also created chaos by awakening the Juubi. That is when the Circle of Hatred started, not with the son's of Hagoromo, but with Hagoromo and Juubi. Now we know that Hagoromo connected his chakra to everyone in an attempt to make everyone understand one and another. We also know that he defeated the Juubi in battle by unknown means. Now, we also know that Hagoromo failed in his goal to create peace and this is where my theory/explanation starts.
I mentioned that Hagoromo may have attacked the Juubi out of revenge for his family or homeland. If he did or if he didn't isn't all that relevant, but it may be good to remember that. Now, why did Hagoromo fail in his goal? He failed because he was a part of the Circle of Hatred and was unable to stop it, he was unable to understand the Juubi and befriend it. The series since the very start has been heavily focused on Yin and Yang in many forms, through chakra, relationships and events. The relationship with Hagoromo and Juubi, the relationship with Sasuke and Naruto and so on.
Now, before I jump over to Naruto and Sasuke I would like to point something out. One cannot succeed in doing something if one does it the same way as one failed with the last time. Meaning that Naruto cannot be the exact same or the same as Hagoromo if he were to obtain true peace. Naruto has to be the opposite of Hagoromo, as the opposite to failure is success. Naruto has to be more alike the Juubi and he is. The Juubi was feared, hated and despised from the very moment if appeared. So was Naruto up until now, where everyone feels the opposite of him. Considering Hagoromo's lineage as royalty and his family we can assume that he was loved, praised and liked. We also know that Sasuke was all of those things at a young age, but the opinions about him has also changed over the cause of the series.
Now I also believe that Hagoromo was born with the Rinnegan and that placed him at equal chance of winning in his fight with the Juubi. Sasuke was born with the Sharingan and the ability to awaken the Rinnegan, which would give him an equal chance of winning in a battle against the Juubi's power. Naruto was a failure Shinobi from the day he was born, but he was able to become a great one through the power of the Bijuu and his ideals. Now we know that both of our main stars will be getting an powerup soon enough, and people are saying that Naruto will achieve the power of the Juubi. That is correct, and it also proves that Naruto is the opposite of Hagoromo. As I said, Hagoromo was born with the eyes but not with the Juubi. Naruto was born with the Bijuu but not the eyes. Sasuke was born with the eyes, but not the Bijuu.
Hagoromo failed.
Naruto will succeed.
They are completely opposite of each other in more or less every way. However, Sasuke and Hagoromo shares several things. And this was intended by Kishimoto for a simple reason.
Sasuke = Hagoromo before he became a Jin.
Naruto = The Juubi before being sealed.
The world has understood Naruto's feelings and heart, but not Sasuke's. Its the complete opposite of what the Sage did. Naruto is the one that will understand and Sasuke is the one that will open the doorway to peace. They will stand as equals, but with understanding of each other.
