When I started training with Scorps, I explained a list of things, Yin being one of them;
Chakra
Chakra itself originated from a Tree, a fruit to be exact, plucked and eaten(I suppose), and since then people have been capable of connecting their physical and spiritual energies to form Chakra. Since the release of Chakra, it have become a sort of Life Energy, which we produce naturally but slowly. Essentially, should you run out of chakra, you die.
The chakra is spread out, into a system similiar to our blood veins, but known as the Chakra Path System. We got pressure points located around our body, which is where we release our chakra through.
There are a select few Pressure Points, which are like blockers, which keeps us from ultilizing our Chakra fully, known as the Eight Inner Gates. Removing the limiters, we allow ourselves to release even more chakra at once.

We ultilize Chakra to do feats we normally wouldn't be able to, such as creating Tree/water walking.

There a many a kind of Chakra. It have been mentioned at several times that each person also radiate a different kind of chakra, which allows sensors to define them from eachother. Natural Energy to form Senjutsu is not exactly chakra, but an impure form which allows for the mix of Phsyical, spiritual and Natural Energy to mix to create a stronger force.
Bijuu Chakra in itself, also increases the user's chakra capicity in itself, along with their overall strength and endurance.

Shape Manipulation
Shape Manipulation is a way we mold our released chakra differently. We used it to specifiy a shape, such as a cube. We use it to specify increase in size or decrease. We can make our Cube dense, or rotate hazardous. Our prime example is the Rasengan, which was manipulated densely together while rotating widly. Loosing the the compression it would simply erupt in an outward explosion.
Shape Manipulation is also the pre-training for Nature Transformation.

Nature Transformation
Nature Transformation, simply put - Is an advanced form of Chakra manipulation, which allows us to go further into it's mechanism and define our chakra's innate charatertics and overall properties. Combined with Shape Manipulation, we could e.g exhale a stream of fiery fire.

Naturally, all Ninjas have an inherient speciality which can be discovered with these cool paper tags we got. But in our RP, it matters little, as all can learn all, and the only thing about having a speciality in this area, allows us to perform it with but a single hand sign should it contain any.

Furtherly put, theres the ability to mix two chakra natures at once creating an entirely new element, being special from the remaining, basic five elements being Fire, Wind, Earth, Water and Lightning.

Ninjutsu
I believe we have three different basic types of techniques to do use. These are Taijutsu, Genjutsu and Ninjutsu, whereas Ninjutsu is one of the three. Ninjutsu is one of the basic molding and manipulation of chakra as described above. Often techniques are associated with handseals to make the flow better in order to perform certain techniques. However there do also exist certain non-handseal techniques, such as our prime example; Rasengan.

Within the category of Ninjutsu, there are several sub-categories which are used quite differently than regularly. This could be Medical Ninjutsu, Sealing Techniques which are often associated with tags, however still pertain Ninjutsu, Space-time summoning animals, etc.

Taijutsu
One of the three Basics. Taijutsu also known as body techniques, are the fastest executable actions capable. It is both quicker than Genjutsu and Ninjutsu. It requires no handseals and at most, it requires a stance at some cases. It's ultilized through our stamina, also known as physical energy, and can oft be combined with Ninjutsu for higher lethality. This falls into sub-category known as Nintaijutsu.

Specialist is this area, mostly seek to achieve the ability to unlock their few selected Tenketsu, also known as the EIGs, which removes their limiter, allowing their body to exceed normal limitation and increasing their overall raw prowess.

One could say this falls under the category of Yang, considering the physical usage.

Genjutsu
Genjutsu is the last of the three basics. Genjutsu is also known as illusionary techniques. As the name suggests, it applies illusionary effects to the target. Put simply, the caster takes control of the chakra flow within the target's brain in order to make changes to the five senses, thus creating an illusion of their choice.
It's more seldomly seen used, as most prefer the actual tangible, physical effects, that Ninjutsu and Taijutsu posess.
Usually while under the influence of an illusion the victim appears immobile, and in some cases they may still be mobile, moving around in the illusion itself.
There are a variety of ways to break a Genjutsu, such as creating actual physical pain to bring back to the victim to reality. A sort of override of the chakra system, being injected with foreign chakra in order to flush out the illusion. A spike of chakra to 'reset' it to it's normal state.
It was also shown that through strong smells with chili pepper bombs, that one was capable of breaking an illusion, but I don't think that's viable in our RP.

It's said that this category falls under Yin-Release.

Yang Nature
Yang, which I view as Physical Energy, is also known as the energy which is accounted for as vitality, our life energy. Self-empowerment, longevity. This is what I see when I look at Yang release. It's what breaths life into objects. It had a vitalizing effect on Mokuton, which caused an outburst of growth.

It's said Akamichi's Multi-size techniques falls under Yang-release.
Aside from this, Yang Nature can be combined with Yin-Release to ultilize a combination of them both.

Yin Nature

Yin Nature is also known as the spiritual energy. It's said to create form out of nothingness, alas it's the ability that rules imagination. Mentioned by the Second Mizukage was that Genjutsu itself falls under the category of Yin-Release, as I mentioned earlier, and such as Tayuya's usage of her Dokis, which proved to contain much more spiritual energy than physical.

Aside from this, Yin Nature can be combined with Yang-Release to ultilize a combination of them both

But I don't know if you've anything to add ontop of my aforementioned description? O^O

Can you comment on Yin in the context of Daoist philosophy? I'm not asking you to do huge research for anything. But since Reborn used inspiration from Daoism to create a lot of what Yin-Yang is on NB, I think it's cool to note. So just do your best.

I'm going to add onto what you said in terms of Naruto. Yin is chakra which governs the spiritual energy, imagination, etc. It's creation from nothingness. You listed the abilities correctly as well (Mizukage's Clam, Genjutsu, Dokis, Nara, etc). These are all examples of Yin Release, or something heavily influenced by Yin. So that's all correct. Now I didn't see much in terms of talking about ratios. So I'm gonna throw that in here.

Yin Release is achieved by heavily throwing the ratio between physical and spiritual side of things. This is the concept of ratios that we've seen before in Naruto, most famously in Naruto's training with Bee when they discuss the ratio between negative and positive chakra. Now, when you're using a Yin Release technique, you're not entirely eliminating the presence of Yang, or the physical energy, in that technique. Rather, the chakra of the technique is balanced in such a way to emphasize the Yin far more than the Yang. But neither is ever eliminated. There is no such thing as a purely Yin technique, likewise with Yang. You're just balancing the ratio to favor the spiritual more than the physical.

Ah, Dai-o-isms-s-s-sm~ One of the many 'Ism'. z.z''

It's hard to mainly focus on one of the aspects when they are so heavily intertwined. One doesn't come without the other.

I believe from the written words in this book, that before anything is either Yin-Yang, there is Wuji which is emptiness. Anything created from said emptiness would be Yin-Yang, which are the opposites of one another, i.e their effects or perspectives of things. Examples are the best way to describe it, for simpletons as I.

If you intercept anything as superior, you create inferiority.
Drop a pebble in a pond, waves would occur with both high and lows, until it calms once more. i.e for something to raise something lowers.

Otherwise, I understand everything so far.

So, Wuji is boundlessness, or nothingness. And from Wuji comes Taiji, which is the Supreme Ultimate, or everything. But because Taiji, everything, is indistinguishable from itself you gain the two poles: Yin and Yang. These are then further divided into the Ba Gua. But that's where my understanding gets iffy; but basically, the Ba Gua is where the Creation of All Things comes from. That's just a quick run down of it.

Alright, let's start on techniques.

(Yinton: Ten ni henkō) - Yin Release: Change into Heaven
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S-Rank
Range: Short
Chakra cost: N/A (+50)
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user manipulates a technique of the basic 5 elements with Yin nature, allowing him to change its properties. Fire can become solid. Lightning can become tangible. The possibilities are as endless as is the user’s own imagination. The end resulting technique is neutral to all basic elemental natures. This doesn't consume time since it’s actually a skill applied to a technique used at the same time.
Note: Yin Release masters can apply this technique to advanced fields, CE and advanced elements.
Note: Usable 6 times per battle

This technique got a recent update from Reborn allowing it to be applied to advanced fields to be symmetrical with Yang's Change into Hell. So Yin Masters can apply this to Shikotsumyaku, Fuuinjutsu, your grandmother, etc. You name it, this works on it. Of course, I imagine you're picking Yang Mastery. So this doesn't really apply here. But I figured I should mention it.

So on a basic level, the technique allows you to impose your imagination on another technique and alter its properties. Given the infusion nature of the technique, it occurs instantly within the same timeframe as the preceding technique. You can alter color, visibility, sound, feeling, tangibility, acidity, and the list goes on and on. There are limits, however. You can't change the size and you can't create something completely undetectable. Meaning that no matter what you change, there must be at least one 'tell' to the technique. Outside of this, you're pretty much free to do what you want to it though. Just make sure you keep the inherent nature of the element the same. If you change fire to water, then it isn't really a Fire Release technique anymore. Not that you can't do that. But it gets kinda funky at that point.

So what are your thoughts and questions? This is one of the most vast and versatile techniques in the RP in my opinion. Its applications in any situation are practically limitless.

tfw your opponent's bones turn out to be liquefied. ¬_¬

Okay, I get the technique. But could you give me an good example of how this could be use, in a useful way? Just out of sheer curiosity, I might be a bit old school'ish not to be thinking out of the box in this case, but would be nice with an usage example. Other than that, I've no questions.

Well, you can pick and choose how it is perceived depending on your opponent's senses. For example, if they lack chakra sensory, you could alter a technique to become invisible to the naked eye. This is done by just altering its coloration. You can change something to become intangible, allowing it to phase through physical matter and bypass defenses/obstacles. Stuff like that.

You can pitch your own ideas for it and I could tell you if it works or not too.

Ah, but if it's invisible to the naked eye, doesn't that go against the ''completely undetectable'' for this particular individual should he not posses sensing techniques. In essence I could make my Bone techniques intangible similar to fire, or my Abyss a liquid, or intangible rather than tangible. Mhm... This is against the laws of physics!

But, I think I get the gist of it. Just worried how much it can be pushed, LOL.

It's not on an individual basis.

(Inton: Gogyou Gen) - Yin Release: 5 Elements Illusion
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: N/A (+50)
Damage: N/A
Description: This technique allows the user to combine their elemental chakra with Yin Release in order to create stronger, more potent genjutsu. When the user casts a genjutsu, rather than using their raw chakra they will use one of the basic elemental natures, thus increasing the potency of the jutsu. The jutsu increases in strength by one rank and due to the massive amount of chakra used, the jutsu can penetrate through any subversive method against genjutsu. By using nature chakra rather than raw chakra, the properties of the genjutsu can change in accordance to that nature and become stronger. For example, using Crushing Snake Constriction with Fire Release chakra would make the snakes appear, feel, and sound as though they were on fire. As well, the technique would follow the rules of elemental genjutsu. The user is free to alter the effects of a genjutsu within reason as long as the primary effects remain the same.
Note: Can only be used 6 times per battle.
Note: Cannot be used on techniques above S-rank.
Note: Yin Release masters can use advanced elements and CE

Elemental genjutsu with some boosting, some other awesomeness, some more awesome customization. Before we dive into the specifics, do you have any questions about the particular wording of the technique?

'' the jutsu can penetrate through any subversive method against genjutsu'' Not sure what it means by this.

Does the technique gain elemental weakness, despite being Genjutsu? Such as a fullbody water burst, or.. I don't know. z_z I'm not too keen on elemental genjutsu to be honest D: ;_; But I think it seems straight forward as long as I read up on the Elemental Gen rules before using it, LOL.

Alright so that line is key, I'm glad you asked about it. Basically it means that Genjutsu that are enhanced with Yin Release, specifically this technique, cannot be subverted with passive defenses. For instance, clans like Nekura and Surgebinders cannot just ignore a Genjutsu enhanced with 5 Elements Illusion, like they normally could. The Yin chakra is superior to that subversive method, making all passive resistances against illusions totally meaningless. Basically think of it this way: you have to do something to confront the illusion, actively. It can never just be shrugged off, unless with something like a Yin technique or of equivalent tier.

Yes, the fullbody releases and their elemental interactions now apply through this method. So an illusion infused with 5 Elements to have Fire Release chakra can be broken more easily with a fullbody water release.

(Inton: Gaki no Jutsu) - Yin Release: Hungry Ghost Technique
Type: Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: N/A
Chakra Cost: N/A (+50)
Damage: N/A
Description: Hungry Ghost is a spiritual parasite created through the user’s Yin Release chakra. When using an elemental jutsu, the user will form the ram hand seal to seal the hungry ghost within their technique. Sealing the hungry ghost inside one’s technique happens within the same timeframe as their elemental technique. When the user’s technique clashes with another technique, the parasitic Yin Chakra will eat away at the chakra within the technique, weakening it by one rank. Once the hungry ghost consumes foreign chakra it is released and immediately attaches itself to the source of the foreign chakra (the opponent). From there, the parasite continues to eat away at the enemy’s chakra every time they use techniques (all techniques reduce in rank and power by 1 degree). Once the Hungry Ghost is released, its tether is immediate and cannot be blocked or circumvented by ordinary means. The effects of Hungry Ghost last for 4 turns.
Note: Can only be used 5 times per battle and cannot be used on the same target more than twice.
Note: Surges or Barriers that utilize Yin, Yang, or Yin-Yang chakra can break or prevent the tethering of the Hungry Ghost.
Note: Yin Release master can apply this technique to advanced elements and CE
Note: Hungry Ghost can only be used on S-rank techniques and below.
Potent technique. Not necessarily in the strength of the debuff associated with it, but in the delivery method. Do you think this technique is applicable to be used with something like Moving Earth Core? Something that instantly makes contact with an opponent?

Well, when you say it like that, it make it sound as if it is a trick question. <_< But technically it says when it clashes with another technique in the text, so I guess it is only limited to that?

I wouldn't call it a trick question. But that's correct. The wording of the technique requires clashes. So things that would instantly make contact with your opponent, like MEC, wouldn't really be applicable. Likewise, in most circumstances vanilla Taijutsu (I mean literally just punching an opponent, for instance) wouldn't work either if you used this technique in conjunction with the Punch Taijutsu technique. This is a good thing since the method of delivery for this technique is already practically instant, requiring only a clash between any technique. Ridding yourself of the debuff is also a nuisance for most people who don't have Yin-Yang; it reinforces the idea that Yin-Yang is in a class of its own.

Right. But how would the punch be any different from the MEC, unless he blocks the punch of course, thus causing the technical clash?
Otherwise, I cool technique. Omnomnom.

Well the spirit latches onto chakra in a technique during a clash. So unless we're talking NinTaijutsu (Fire punch hitting a Fire punch), then it wouldn't be applicable. And now moving onto the technique closely related to this one;

(Inton: Dai Mugen Ryu) - Yin Release: Great Phantom Dragons
Type: Offensive/Defensive
Rank: S
Range: Short - Long
Chakra Cost: 150
Damage: 80 (per dragon) | 100 (for multi-element)
Description: A more powerful version of “Yin Release Hungry Ghost Technique.” Rather than the user arbitrarily adding their Yin Release chakra to a specific technique, the user will create a number of large, elemental dragons using any of the basic elements plus their Yin Release chakra. The user can create up to 5 serpentine dragons which, once created, can act independently according to the user’s will. Due to the user being able to manipulate multiple elements at once, each dragon created can be of a different nature. Each dragon will also have the absorption properties of “Hungry Ghost,” thus becoming even more dangerous. However, due to the massive amount of chakra and control needed to use these dragons, the user can only control two dragons at any given time. While the dragons are present, the user cannot use any Yang Release or elemental techniques that currently exist within the dragons. Yin Release masters can combine two natures together in order to make a multi-elemental dragon or even a dragon consisting of an advanced element or CE that they know. However, in doing so they will only be able to create two dragons.
Note: Can only be used 2 times per battle.

I'm sure you'll really like this one. Here's a question for you, what does it mean when it says you can make up to five in one instance but you can only control two of them?

Well the spirit latches onto chakra in a technique during a clash. So unless we're talking NinTaijutsu (Fire punch hitting a Fire punch), then it wouldn't be applicable. And now moving onto the technique closely related to this one;

It's a way to say ''We know it's 80 per dragon, therefore we won't allow you to make all five attack at once and do a 5x 80 attack on your opponent.'' So at any time, the user can control two of the dragons, while the remaining remain stationery. Say, one round I dash ahead with two of the dragon; the following round I want to do the same. Does it cost a move? For how long do they stay on the field? Can I perform technique simultaneously as I control the serpents to attack, while baring in the mind about the elemental limitations while they are in use?

Nah you can make 5 at a time, easily. What the clause refers to when it says 'control' is essentially actively manipulate them. You can create 5 at a time and send all as mindless projectiles at your opponent. But manipulating them would count as controlling one, or two. So yeah, while they remain stationary, or fly you around, or do whatever, you'd be 'controlling.'

No, it doesn't cost a move in the follow turn. But it will still take slots in the timeframe. They stay on the field until destroyed or used. And yes, you can perform techniques within the limitations of the technique.
