Chiyo was a kage level puppet master who knew how to combat his traps and movements plus Sakura is a exceptionally talented medic nin who just happened to create an antidote. Your not giving enough credit to Sasori's abilities. He would defeat plenty of Akatsuki members.

any examples? well, konans and zetzus abilities are pretty much unknown, they might loose, but thats not for sure and zetsu is mainly a spy and konan is in akatsuki because of pein.
kakazu would hunt the puppeteer down with his distance jutsus
hidan is immortal (so the poison attacks wont work on him alittlebit and he is fast enough to escape the crushing sand attacks)
kisame seems to be constantly under water and therefore pretty unhitable by sasoris attacks,
itachi would either burn him with amaterasu (i dont really know weather you can put him in genjutsu or not) or simply outspeed him.
deideira can blow up huge areas and sasori isnt really fast, and his puppents wont survive the blast.

Well Hidan for one since, he is the 'slowest' members and he is not going to handle the puppet movements well, especially a hundred or so. He will get decapitated eventually.

From what we've seen of Konan, she hasn't shown much to put her above Sasori. He can just use Iron Sand which will effect the paper like he did against Chiyo's puppets.

Deidara admitted inferiority to Sasori. I'm going to assume Sasori knew how to combat Deidara's fighting style better then Deidara of Sasori's style.

Kakuza, Kisame and Orochimaru are where Sasori's power level is at, as his Iron Sand, incurable poison (unless your a prodigy medic), master puppetry and traps are a force to be reckoned with.

tobi is madara. he's the lame member and just pretend to be weak but its not.
I prefer the worst member in akatsuki the one who died earlier.
