You don't get it at all. :sigh:
Clothes are a basic human necessity. Drugs are not.
Do you know why those kids work in those sweatshops? They need Money to LIVE. The drugs and cartels I was talking about are used to make excess money for luxury.
You sound like an environmental stupid that hold plaques. Learn the difference between environmental issues and crime.
No Just No. My country is the dumping ground and not the one which dumps. Considering we are surrounded on 3 sides by ocean and we are on very bad terms with our neighbours (LoL if they let us dump waste).
I agree with this part.
Dude this is a forum and we are discussing something, don't accuse someone of being as bad as criminals when you know nothing about that person. Also learn some manners.
That's why there is no point in debating. I never said anything about punishments. I just said it is pointless to compare what crime is worst. We are not deciding how severe the punishments for different crimes should be.
I said a crime is a crime and should be looked at seriously no matter how big or small. Sure stealing a pack of gums is not severe enough for you but these small things grow in the future so that the person growing up thinks its fine if I pick up some jewellery from someone its not like I am killing them or anything. Later on he will go and say lets rob a store its not like I will kill the owner or anything.
I know the world is not black and white but we can at least try to lighten the gray that plagues this world instead of darkening it.
The ignorance of your reply is baffling. You also just compared crime when you kept on saying how simple-minded it was to do so.
Firstly, it's not just clothes. It's everyday products that we use; like computers, smart-phones, toys, coffee, furniture, etc.
Those kids are employed by companies which cheats their pay in order to make a large profit and sometimes even forces labor.
Sweatshops workers are abused both physically, verbally, and are even sexually assaulted on a daily basis. Women are most often forced to take birth control in order to prevent them from taking maternity leave.
Those companies go into a country/district with a troubled economy and pay them next to nothing for work that neglects the basic human rights of those workers and abuses their disparity. Then they distribute that clothing in other countries, making a large profit.
Did you know it was already proven that sweatshops don't alleviate poverty but only make it worse? Yeah, so much for that money used to live.
That money is just enough to buy a rotten banana to feed the family.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So littering or killing animals is not a crime?
Is poisoning drinking water not a crime?
Is throwing garbage in your neighbors backyard not a crime?
Pretty sure they all are and all deal with the environment.
Considering that you just said that environmental issues should be kept separate from the subject of crime makes you an idiot. It is not only a crime to destroy the environment you and others live in ethically, but also by law to an extent.
