The word "fodder"

Do people even know what it means? I see this word thrown about all the time incorrectly on NB, and it's starting to get annoying honestly. The word fodder means "Food, esp. dried hay or feed, for cattle and other livestock." but people on here are probably referring to cannon fodder, which means "soldiers regarded merely as material to be expended in war." Now cannon fodder in Naruto would be people like the dead ninja on this page

Fodder = No name ninja that are just there. Nobody cares if they live or die, they have no importance to the story. Fodder is NOT a person who has known feats and/or abilities, and has had an impact on the story. Just because they aren't a god tier ninja with overpowered jutsu like Hashirama, Madara, and Naruto doesn't mean that they are fodder, it just means they aren't overpowered as ****.

Nope, most people on the base who compare and contrast ninja cannot post fodder in the correct usage and it's maddening. Because one shinobi is far stronger than another apparently means the lesser shinobi is "fodder", which is far from the truth.

I don't usually reference music in posts, but just give a listen to Disposable Heroes by Metallica. The anger of being put into battle with the full knowledge that they are there to just die is what Fodder accentuates.

An elite versus a better elite does not make the former elite fodder.

A fodder is basically a character that does'nt contribute anything to the story and is considered expendable.If they die at any point in the in the story then they don't even get a mention from the other characters.
