My final would be that the sage was indeed an Uzamaki.....who was indeed reincarnated ....

dude i hate how people say the sage is an uzumaki. That is such a dumb theory for one simple reason. The sage lived in a time when there were no ninja and ninja clans. IF ANYTHING the uzumaki's came from him. He can't BE an uzumaki, uzumaki's didnt exist back then. I am sure that they are related to him in the same way senjus are. That is why to get the rinnegan u need uchiha blood mixed with either senju or uzumaki.

Hmm well there's a lot of similarities towards the sage and Uzumaki's so it makes the most sense, and just because their weren't any clans back then doesn't mean there weren't any clan names that would go to lead to future clans.

The Uzumaki clan is still to unknown be ruled out, for all we know there may be another reason as to why they were wiped out. Keep and open mind and think outside the box.
