The whole Tobi scared of Itachi deal....

Ok so there is considerable amount of debate on wether or not Tobi was "scared" of Itachi, thus holding his plan to attack Konoha, or that it was part of their "pact". Here's what I make out of this whole situation. Itachi was only alive before Tobi had obtained the rinnengan, so he was a bit less powerful as he is now. This being said I think that Itachi>or=Tobi (without rinnengan). While Itachi<or=Tobi (with rinnengan). I don't necessarily think that Tobi was "scared" of him, but more or less he had some sort of respect for him or the power he held and was unsure if he would be able to best him in battle (at the time). So, he just let Itachi alone knowing of Itachi's intent to die by Sasuke's hands. He just thought it would be in his best interest not to risk it.
That's just my two cents.

I agree he wasn't scared but respected the power he had and knew that facing itachi would just hamper his plan so he let it be
Tobi is a patient man and knows not to rush into any unwanted trouble

Eh, I believe they both feared each other. Itachi feared Tobi because he DIDN'T know Tobi's secrets and Tobi was afraid of Itachi because if Itachi knew the truth then Itachi would relentlessly try to kill TObi.

if tobi had attacked konoha he could escape itachi but then itachi would kill every member of the akatsuki including pain, then tobi plans would be ****ed and madara's eyes burned to a crisp

i would say myself he was scared of him but the way you explain it is very good! i said to someone else within the akatsuki there was alot of respect amongst the members and they wouldn't attack each other from that respect. the organisation could split. which was not in obito's best interest as he needed them to capture the tailed beasts. aswell obito did say to sasuke that if itachi knew about him he would CERTAINLY be dead.

Tobi was always saying that things are not possible (fighting kages) with his current state so he was evading fights for some reasons which we may already know like he never had a good body but he was not scared of anyone.
